Tonight I’m packing for Vegas, a last minute decision kind of trip I’m very excited for (remember the shoot I wanted to do? When I discovered it was on Sunday I decided not to go, and then a few weeks later I decided to stop sulking and just go and not think about it). My mom has been scheduled to go down for a convention called WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photagraphers International) for months, and this was a great chance for us to “meet in the middle” and spend some time together.
I’ll be carting around my little point-and-shoot, attempting to snag photos of all of my favorite photographer celebrities (well I consider them to be celebrities), and I plan on taking photos of everything. My mom is working on setting up a shoot with a local bride, and if it happens I might even get the chance to tag along and take some pictures as well!
I expect to see lots and lots of fake brides and grooms this week!
I’m packing a few textbooks in hopes that a change of scenery (and no plans and no kitchen to cook in for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) will motivate me to start getting things done!
This obviously means no romantic Valentines plans for That Couple on the 14th.
What are you doing this weekend?

Have fun in Vegas!
My friends husband will be there too!

If you happen to bump into that group of photogs- tell them I sent my best!
This weekend I am sans significant other as well. My man is on-call this entire weekend. And his parents are coming to town, so I will be entertaining them… as well as studying for another mid-term. Not to mention writing a paper…

Hope you have a lovely time.
We’re going out for dinner, to the same restaurant we went to the night we got engaged – ah! I love Valentine’s day.

Have fun!
We’re having a romantic dinner… with my in-laws! They’re visiting this weekend, but we haven’t seen them since Christmas and they’re always fun, so it’ll be fine.
I do have plans to make a chocolate pie for Friday night dinner, though… here’s hoping it works!

Since I have never been to Vegas…could you take photos of the strip? Just a request.
As for my plans (which look like small potatoes compared to yours) – Taking my husband to dinner (I’m paying), getting my V-DAY gift, Having brunch at the best sophisticated soul restaurant in DC for Sunday. As for VDAY itself, maybe some love at the National Galleries of Art and then Mass.
I roll low key

Heck yes I will take some pictures of the strip. The best part about traveling with my mom is that we just take pictures the WHOLE TIME. I’m so excited.

Are you just going to Vegas to meet your mother, or did you change your mind and are also doing the shoot?
I’ll just be in lab all weekend… Husband is on call 5am Saturday morning – 2pm Sunday afternoon anyway, and then he’ll just sleep Sunday afternoon until he has to be back in the hospital 5am Monday morning, so it’s not like we’d be doing anything for Valentine’s Day anyway!

No, I’m just going to meet my mother. On Sunday I will do my best to not think about the awesomeness happening in the desert 40 minutes below me. And my friend is doing the shoot so I will be able to see her gorgeous photos and get an idea what it was like!

We don’t have any specific plans. If the weather is good we’ll go on a hike together, make a nice brunch at home. Something simple.
We don’t want to go out to the restaurant that night.
Last year I made him homemade Orangettes (candied oranges dipped in chocolate) and he brought me treats from home, it was enough.

OooOOO! Have fun in Vegas! That’s exciting that you get to see your mum!
I’m not doing much exciting this weekend. But it is a long weekend for me, for it is family day here, which is REALLY nice. Next weekend, we’re heading out to the mountains for a romantic weekend getaway. I’m excited for that.

Good luck with the textbooks, I don’t think I ever cracked one open anytime I traveled anywhere. There was just so much more stuff to do.
Have fun at the various photoshoots and taking picture of the photographers. I can almost forsee a mirror effect as you take a picture of someone taking a picture of someone else.

Looks like a fun weekend! We may be heading to Vegas next month.
This weekend we’re sneaking home to see friends and hopefully avoid the parents (I know, I’m a horrible daughter). My V-Day plan fell through, so we have to play it by ear. Those always turn into the best dates.

Have fun in Vegas. I’ll try to control my jealousy over your vacation! I can’t wait to see your photo recaps. Remember, textbooks means you’re that much closer to getting That Baby!

I like when people think of ways to look at valentines day in a positive way if they aren’t doing things that are all lovey-dovey or exciting. Plus the babies are so cute Ben!

I’ll be missing out on Valentine’s Day festivities too… We both have audits to wrap up this weekend, so our plan is to maybe grab Fast Food together Saturday night and eat over our computers in our respective corners of the house!!
