I’ve started making a loaf of banana bread every other day so That Husband has something to take to work when he rushes out the door in the morning. I like it because I can slice and bag it the night before, throw it in the fridge, and sleep in the next morning.
Although I’m sure most of you have banana bread recipes that you love, I thought this one was worth noting because it doesn’t use any butter! Yay for skipping out on all of that awful sat fat!
And, as with all “quick breads”, the process for making it is incredibly simple.
Dlyn’s Mom’s Banana Bread

Combine and mix all of the wet ingredients.
Combine all of the dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mix thoroughly.
Pour into a bread loaf pan, bake for 45 minutes, and you’re done!

mmm…banana bread…
I have a question for you though. Do you always prepare something for your hubby to eat in the morning? The reason I ask is you mentioned if you prepare something for him the night before you “get to sleep in” ?

Okay, this has nothing to do with banana bread…though I’ll have to try the recipe - always trying new banana breads around here!
About 100 years ago you posted about book recommendations…well I just finished The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and enjoyed it a whole lot. Couldn’t put down, had to carry it with me everywhere until it was finished kind of book. Definately check that one out!
Also, I remember you saying that you wanted a book with minimal, if any, swearing/sex/other stuff (of which I understand of course). I’m finding that novels geared a little more towards Young adults is perfect. My MIL is a middle school librarian and a lot of the books she reads and has me read are from this group and she has told me/ realized that usually the only reason something is labeled YA is because the character may be a teenager. So while the ‘teeny bop’ books about going to homecoming and makeup aren’t very deep or what you might be interested in, there are so many thought-provoking, interesting, and fabulous reads out there that don’t involve all the stuff you don’t want to get in explicit detail. The Hunger Games is one I now reccomend and my MIL is also telling me to read “The Uglies” series and every gal my age that has read them seems to enjoy them a lot.
Anyway, that was a really long post to say ‘hey-try The Hunger Games if you’re looking for a good book’.

Thank you, thank you! I make banana bread all the time & lately have been tweaking my recipe because it just seems so…dense…or something. Thick. Anyway, I love giving new recipes a shot!
