Just got back from my run*/walk for the day. The BodyBugg really motivates me to get outside and get moving because I get so sad when I realize that I can barely break 2000 calories burnt on a normal day and that sometimes I walk less than 3000 steps if I don’t make an effort to exercise. No wonder I’ve been gaining weight.
When I’m at the end of my run (however short or long it may be), nothing gets me moving like Party Hard by Andrew W.K.
Incredibly cheesy I know, but I can’t help myself. It’s my favorite workout song.
What’s your favorite workout song?
*Yes I am a few several a month early to be running but the urge came over me and I just couldn’t help myself. And it felt GOOD. I’m praying for no soreness tomorrow!

I know that it is fairly inappropriate song, but I love working out to “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mixalot.
Lately, No Doubt’s version of “Stand and Deliver”, Dropkick Murphy’s “I’m Shipping up to Boston,” Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” and Pink’s “So What” are also in pretty high rotation.
When I am running I like to keep the music as fast paced as much as possible, so anything with a good beat works!

I think that nobody can judge people by their workout songs. My workout mix is so much different than my actual taste in music.
One song that is fun to run to is When I Grow Up by the Pussycat Dolls. I had never listened to them before and then my mom said I would probably like to run to it and I did.

How funny, I was just scheduling a post about workout music!
I love:
Walking on a Dream by Empire of the Sun
Glamourous by Fergie (I know, I know)
I Don’t Feel Like Dancing (Scissor Sisters)
All Night Long (Lionel Richie)
and many more.
I think cheese is a necessity for effective exercising. It helps me dream about being hot and boogying down haha.

This may be cheesy too, but I love it when “You Never Let Go” by Matt Redman comes on at the end of a tough run. It’s so encouraging to keep me pushing through to the end!
“I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on / and there will be an end to these struggles but until that day comes / still I will praise you / still I will praise you!”
