Today Tamsyn wrote a post about Bloggers Without Makeup Day, May 14th, as declared by Mummy Mayhem. Mummy Mayhem decided “If the celebrities can do it on the cover of a national magazine, why can’t I?”
Boo and I were just about to go out for a walk, so I grabbed a quick shot of makeup-less me.
I admit I’m glad that the zit I picked at on my chin has mostly healed over though. And that I know enough about photography to realize that downward angles are slimming. So I guess this shot should be labeled the “almost real me”. Of course I realize this doesn’t look much different than the way you’ve seen me many times before (just wait until you see more of the birth photos. Super hot.), but I like the meaning behind the movement. And I’m always working to be true to myself in the way I portray myself on That Wife.
Would you do it? Would you post a photo of yourself makeup free on your blog?

You look beautiful! Your skin is perfect, I don’t know why you’d wear makeup anyway.
Did you see the Today show people without makeup?
I rarely post photos of myself even with makeup on my blog… Maybe I’ll do a without, then a with makeup post. I think that would make it easier somehow, haha.

Yes. 90% of the photos on my blog are make-up-less including the last ‘belly’ shot. I am SUPER lazy and only put on make-up about once a month. Maybe.
Now I whole-heartedly agree I look MUCH better with make-up on
I’m just lazy!

Hehe, I’m like Jilian- I am waaaaaay to lazy for make-up. It only gets done for special outings, maybe church, and once in awhile for JD Man when he gets home from work.
Make-up-less, my skin looks a lot like yours and I’m fine with showing that.
I just like make-up for those times when I want to look “better” than myself. Otherwise, I hate the feeling of that gunk on my face. Always feel like whatever I do, I’m going to mess it up.

As someone who is highly allergic to most makeup, I can honestly say that 98% of pictures of me are without makeup. It’s just not worth the risk of reaction to wear it! So yes, I would post makeup-less pictures on my blog

Not a blogger- but I’m not a make-up wearer either. I own eyeshadow and mascara but otherwise don’t know what to do with the rest of it! You are beautiful with or without it!

I woke up late and frazzled this morning - as a result - I’m make up less today. does this count

I’ve only recently posted a picture of my face on my blog, so I’m not sure if I’m ready for my make-up free face to grace my blog. You’re beautiful though - make-up or no make-up!

I don’t wear a lot of a make-up. Tinted moisturiser to work, a bit more if I go *out* and no makeup in the weekends. Most of the pics of me on the blog(s) are either baking or training, so I’m pretty much makeup free on the blog.

Well, I guess I stick out like a sore thumb then. I never go without makeup. I’m not even sure why, because I don’t think I look that much different. But I wouldn’t leave the house without it, and DEFINITELY wouldn’t post a pic sans makeup.
You are braver than I! (although you look pretty great, I must admit)

Very cool idea-I posted mine on my style blog (where I never post a pic w/o at least some eyeliner!)

I only wear makeup when I’m going out somewhere fancy. So almost all the photos of me are makeup less!

I wear Make up all the time, so I would not post a photo like that. Its not who I am. I use makeup to bring out my eyes or else they appear small behind my glasses. With that said I don’t wear a lot of make up, just eyeshadow, liner and mascara. So I don’t think its a big deal

I wear mascara approximately 3 times a month, never wear lipliner/lipstick, and never wear base/blush. I want to start experimenting with lipstick, but I really despise having to keep up with it during the day, and perhaps as my acne scars continue to fade I can wear blush and have it make sense.
My daily routine is sunscreen, mineral powder, curl eyelashes, burt’s bees chapstick as needed. Maybe 2 days out of the week I will, with my finger, swipe on bronze or pink shimmery eyeshadow, so most of the pictures of me floating around on my blog/facebook are makeup-less.
I second some of the lazy comments, and I’m glad I’m comfortable enough to be lazy and still like the way I look. I’ve known far too many girls who cannot leave the house without a full mask of 2 hour application makeup.

I rarely wear make-up, because I don’t like having to take it off, or the results of sleeping with it on! But maybe I’ll get a picture of me when I haven’t showered in a day or two… THAT would be “true” to myself. lol.

I think the only pictures of me on my blog with makeup are the ones from the weddind and our few special dates. My main issue is to get a picture of myself because I’m usually the one behind the camera and I’m terrible at self portraits. So if my older posted pictures count I’m in, if I need a new one… well it will have to wait.

Jenna you are so beautiful inside and out. I love you! I love your bravery, your honesty, your inspiration… I have a few photos of me makeup less on my blog and other social networks, but thankfully my pizza face is pretty much behind me now… I wouldn’t have done it back in high school!

I wish I had read this on the right day! I absolutely would have done it! You look great by the way! I would still do it, but it seems a little silly on just any ol day to put a pick of me makeup less, but I like the idea that there’s a day for it. I always imagine that my favorite bloggers are gorgeous and perfect, even though I’m among them now and am not!

Jenna you are gorgeous, your eyes and eyebrows are especially beautiful!
I have to admit I’m guilty of using angles and lighting to my benefit in my ‘nude’ photo, but hey why not!?

Yes, he’s in a Bjorn we borrowed from a friend. When we buy our own we’ll buy a Mei-Tai, just based on reviews I’ve heard from other people. I like walking with the structured carrier like the Bjorn because it allows more air flow especially in hot Texas. We have the Moby as well and I LOVE it. Like couldn’t live without it and wash it by hand because I can’t stand to have it in the wash for too long.

I don’t wear make-up on most days. I only make an effort when I’m really dressing up. I don’t even do it for church, just like I don’t wear nylons.
Does that make me revolutionary or just lazy?

I’ve worn makeup maybe 5 times since November, so all my pics online are makeup free.
