Google Reader users it’s time to click over because That Wife has a new look today!
I don’t know if there are words in English language to describe how I feel about Joy, of How Joyful, for putting together such a beautiful yet professional look for That Wife. I love her. Adore her. Admire her. Think she is brilliant and deserves great success and happiness in life. Fingers crossed we get to meet in person someday!
As if this day could get any sweeter, Joy is offering to give away one of the newest items in her Etsy shop, HowJoyful. She recently unveiled three different handcrafted handbag styles Red and Brown, Aqua and Brown, and Green and Brown.
To enter to win one of these fabulous bags you need to comment below and say something nice about my new site design. Or you can tell Joy how incredibly awesome she is. Either one will work. Love the new look. It is clean and simple (and what new Mom doesn’t need some simplicity in her life, ha!) yet still attractive and colorful. Oh, and having T1′s piccies on it…well that just about makes it perfect! As for the bags. OMG I LOVE them. I was so, “I’m all about the red” (my favorite color) then I scrolled down and loved all 3! Very talented lady! I like that they don’t have long straps either. I am in an electric wheelchair (affectionaly call my “legs”) and need a bag with short handles. hard to find one in stores that is also cute! love it! congrats on T1. what a doll baby he is! keep the photos and stories coming!

Hi Jenna, long time lurker, first time commenter! I really like the new design, it’s much more streamlined I think. I’m a fan of the 2-column layout, sometimes that column on the left could be a bit clunky, and now it’s just so lovely and organised

I enjoy this blog inspite of the fact I’m old enough to be Jenna’s mother(!) but it gives me great insights into my own daughters who are about her age. I am beginning to think of them in terms of being young mothers like yourself and this is great preparation.
The new design: much easier on the eyes, my middle age eyes like the larger type. It is fresh and clean, tho I do have to scroll to the side to view the full page.

I love it! The reading area is narrower than it was before, making it a lot easier to read through the posts. And I like that the photos in the posts are now a bit smaller as well, so they don’t disrupt the flow. Great job, Joy!

I love the double column on the write and noticed that you decided on your own advertisement/sponsors. The buttons to invite people to have their advertisment there is cute. Maybe you could have a link button that sends people to a page about how to advertise on your blog with a few stats on your readers and all.
And OMG those bags are so cute. I keep on going back and forth between the red and the aqua one.But if I was to win I think I would pick the aqua because the bag I already have has red in it. I could see that aqua fabric as a cover for one of our chairs too. Ok I need to stop dreaming.

I love this new look! It’s so clean and crisp. It, for some reason, reminds me of a shabby-chic style. You know, home made pie/quilts on the sofa/dried flowers hanging from rafters. This description is meant to be a compliment b/c I love that homey feel to things.

Hi Jenna! I’ve been reading for awhile (pretty sure I found you through Then Heather Said) but if I’m not mistaken this is my first time commenting??
I do LOVE the new layout. As many have said (from my quick scan of comments) it seems much sleeker and simple, which to me translates to much less overwhelming, which is so important – I hate when I go to a site and just feel bombarded by text and images and columns and can’t find what I’m looking for. and I love this shade of green, it’s sort of calming…
I would also like to point out that one day I spent the entire afternoon going through your photoblog, loved pretty much everything I saw, and became immensely sad that you will be moving up north soon which means by the time I’m ready to get married you will be too far away! Sadness.
Anyway, congrats on the new site design, and those bags look amazinnnng.

I love it! Love the green, love how all of your tabs are on top in grey so they are still easy to find but out of the way. And love the font. And how your pattern goes all the way down the back drop.
I want to switch to wordpress for this reason – so I can have a beautiful blog like this, but am afraid to lose all of my posts. If I do, I may look Joy up!

The look is very nice – I love how fresh and clean it feels! It reminds me of drinking lemonade (or limeade) on a porch in the early summer time, when the sun is out and being friendly, but the breezes are still cool.

Ugh. I wish my stupid place of employment would upgrade from IE6 to something a little more… modern, shall we say? I can’t get the full effect of all of the marvelous changes, but I can definitely see a difference! I’ll have to check back from home so I can really see what a great job Joy did!

Ohhhh… pretty… So clean and simple. (not that it wasn’t clean looking before). (FYI, I don’t know how it’s showing up on other’s screens {although it could also be my teeny tiny computer at work}, but I have to scroll to the right to see everything and your header is cut off a little).

Jenna I think the new site is cleaner and more organized which makes it simpler to navigate around and Joys work is amazing! Not only are the purses great colors but they look big enough for even a mom on the go could cram what she needs into them! Very nice!!

Really all of those bags are ridiculously adorable and fabulous. I also LOVE the new website design. It’s very concise and since I follow your blog from a mini laptop (less than 9″ monitor), more concise = easier to read! All the information for whole page fits in my viewing area without resizing! Yay!
P.S. Since I believe this is my first time commenting (I’ve been reading semi-daily now for….a month? Maybe? At least. And I’m pretty sure I’ve read almost all of the archives by now), I really love this blog. I’m not LDS and have especially enjoyed/appreciated being able to learn more about your faith. Plus, your boy is adorable, so it’s definitely a plus getting to see pics of him
. Also, I hope my husband is cool enough to jump in the birthing pool with me, if I’m lucky enough to give birth at home! I could go on, but I think you get the point: you rock, the blog rocks, the new layout rocks, the purses rock, etc. ^_^
