30 Day Photography Challenge
I’ve seen all sorts of challenges floating around Pinterest, including this one that I bookmarked for future reference. I want to do them, but feel like it’s never the right time to start (always a reason to procrastinate, even when it comes to something fun!). I haven’t been shooting much professionally, and so I’m not seeing as much forward progress as I’d like in my abilities. So when I saw Our Wired Lives tweeting about a photography challenge she’s hosting with Ali, I decided to comment and say I’d join in because I knew this would give me a little push artistically.
We’ll be starting on October 1st.

Would you like to join us in the challenge? If so, comment below and I’ll send your email address to Our Wired Lives so she can create a master participant list. Don’t stress about creating a magazine-worthy work of art each day, this is supposed to be fun, and push us all a little bit. No dSLR required for this either, your point-and-shoot can handle these challenges just fine. And I admit, I don’t know that I’ll be publishing a new photo each day (I’ll take them 30 days in a row, but I might publish a weekly wrap-up each Monday because my editing time isn’t always that fast).
I’m thinking about writing some tutorials for the trickier concepts. If you would like a tutorial for a certain day let me know which ones I should be devoting some time to!

Yay! I’m really excited you’ll be doing the challenge with us. I would really appreciate some help understanding and executing bokeh and sunflares.

1I want to join in the challenge! Can you add me too?
I’d love a tutorial on bokeh (since I have no idea what that is) and long exposure .

2I want to do this, I saw it a week ago and just hadn’t got to it yet but October sounds perfect! Count me in!

3I’ve been wanting to do one of these photo challenges but for a similar reason always find a reason to procrastinate as well. October sounds like a wonderful idea.

4Hm. I believe I’ll participate. If life gets in the way a few days might get doubled or tripled up, but c’est la vie.

11I’d love to participate, this is a great idea! I keep wanting to do one of these but catching them mid-month.

12I’ll be doing this as well. :O)
If you could do a tutorial on bokeh and sunflare (especially for us with a dslr kit lens (I think my lens has a low aperture of 4) and/or point & shoots) and maybe some posing/idea help for stuff like faceless portrait that would be amazing!

13I’m up for the challenge! I was inspired by this, so a photographer friend and I created our own, but life got in the way and neither of us finished. I’m ready to see if I can this time! MYork28@gmail.com, http://prettylittlemommythings.blogspot.com/
Yay!

18I would love to participate! I’ve always wanted to do some sort of extended photography challenge, but the 365 day one is a bit too much.

19That’s really fun! I’d like to do it…but I’m not sure I really want to blog it on my photography blog…does it have to be blogged? Maybe facebook?

Hey Kelli, we have one person who has already said she’ll be participating through twitter and posting photos there. That’s another option as well.

25Oh I love this! I’m definitely in. I like your idea of weekly posts, I’ll probably do that. This is much better than the annoying 30 day challenge that’s all over Facebook.

26Yeah, I’m in! I got a lovely dSLR for Christmas, and I still barely know how to use it! I’ll probably do a round up on Fridays or something, like you, Jenna.

27I’d like to try this…I’m really nervous, though! I got a Canon G12 last Christmas and so far all I’ve done is shoot on auto, so I could use help with just about everything (bokeh, sunflare, long exposure, etc.).
