Our trip to the park and my obsessing over the new iPhone have nothing to do with each other really. I’ve been watching the iPhone rumor site for months now, as my contract expired in July and I’ve been waiting to get a new phone ever since. My home button has been on the fritz, which works well as a deterrent for a toddler that likes pushing it over and over*, and I am greatly looking forward to an updated camera to the one found in my 3gs. I’ll be stalking Twitter for the expected news all day today. That Husband tells me not to get excited because it will be a long while before the phones will be in stock and I’ll be able to get one without waiting in line over night. Is this true? How long does it actually take to get the new one when it comes out?
I also discovered a new blog that I really love. Kitchen Corners is written by Da, and I love her no-nonsense writing style, truly evident in this post about watermelon popsicles. I am all about mothers fessing up the the imperfections of their parenting style. Oh! And my favorite blog, Word of Widsom Living? He mentioned me in a post! I feel so cool now.
Yesterday we spent some time at the park (we’re trying to get in as much time there as possible with this sunny weather) and T1 spent some time with a little friend he adores. He gets so excited about things that he can turn kind of aggressive, but I promise this throw-down you see happening is one of love. He tries to do this with me sometimes, but I’m much bigger and stronger so it never works.

I took some pictures of my friend with her son.

And then we switched and she took some of me with mine! I used my standby method to get him to smile, tickling his inner thigh.

Also we cut his hair again. We did it on Day In The Life day, so I have pictures of the process to show you later.

Look at those baby blues!

We plan to be at the park every day until the cold weather drives us indoors for the long, long winter. I have a feeling this winter is going to be much more difficult than last year, because he didn’t care about leaving the apartment. An 18-month old though, loves to go bye-bye. That’s all he would do all day if I let him.

*If you have an iPhone/iPad/iDevice and you also have a toddler, get the Bubcap. I have one on my iPad and it is awesome!

Isn’t it funny how children act with other kids?
Bean will just stare, mouth gaped open, and not say a word when a kid comes around or another adult. She just blinks and stares and then gives the most “I’m really not feelin’ you right now” face. This lasts either until they walk away (like strangers or sometimes even family at functions) or she decides she likes them and then will engage.
Sometimes I feel really bad that she isn’t all happy and interactive within the first 2 seconds of introduction..Then I just think..”Well, she’s particular about who she shares herself with..and I suppose that isn’t a horrible quality”
Anyways, I’m lovin the color combo T1 has on. We try really hard to get away from the baby blues and silly saying or animals for Reid.

I think most baby boy stuff is really ugly and annoying. Ugh.

I am dying to get the iPhone 5 as well. I am still hanging on with my old 3G! My birthday is this Friday, but there’s pretty much no way I’ll be able to get one by then. Maybe as a belated b-day present instead.
T1 looks SO cute here. Love at his little red vest. And that big smile! He just looks like a truly joyful little guy.

Happy iPhone 5 Day! For me, waking up today was like waking up on your birthday. So pumped!!!
When I got my 3GS it was right after its release. I went to my carrier, pre-ordered the phone, got on a list for setup and then the first morning the phones were in (about 2 weeks later) I was at the store at 7am before they opened and there were 3 people in line before me. It was quick and way more painless than I anticipated. I think the key is pre-ordering from a carrier store, not Apple, and making sure it’s not a prime location store where hundreds of people will be waiting (like a mall or super popular shopping center).

Not sure how much truth there is to this, but my MIL went to an AT&T store on Saturday (she needed to replace her 3GS also), and they told her the iPhone 5s were already being shipped to the stores, and after the big meeting they were expecting the price of the 4s to go down considerably.

It is true about iPhone 5 and the wait once it is out, but it is only true if you don’t plan. When the iPhone 4 came out we ordered it online the first day it was out for pre-order. It was an interesting process that involved going in and trying over and over to get through, but we finally had success. It got delivered the day before the phones were supposed to come out, we didn’t have to wait in a long line at the apple store, and activation was SO easy. I can’t wait to hear what is happening today. Apple events are a big deal at my house. There is a nasty rumor going around that Sprint will be the only carrier to have the actual iPhone 5 for the rest of the year. I hope that rumor isn’t true (and if it is, good thing my husband can’t upgrade until February.) Happy Apple Event Day!

iPhone 4S is the newest phone, black and white versions 16GB: $199, 32GB for $299, 64GB for $399. Camera has 8 megapixel sensor, down to f/2.4, 1080p HD video recording, carriers are Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint. I’ve been stalking twitter and watching 3 live feeds.
I have the original 3G. I know a lot of people are complaining that it isn’t the iPhone 5, but for me it is one heck of an update! Preorder starts Oct. 7, with phones hitting the store Oct 14th.
Great pics with T1! He has the cutest smile!

Thank you for the bubcap recommendation!! It’s just what we need. Addie loves my ipad but always pushes the home button and then gets annoyed. Will definitely order some. Oh and Addie’s tickle spot is the inner thigh too. No fail laugh inducer! It’s fun to see the similarities between her and T1, who is a total cutie.

Hmm…so with the updates, are you going to go with the iPhone 4s or just get a 4 and save some cash? I started today bummed because my iPhone 4 was going to be old technology, but after looking at what the iPhone 4S has to offer…I’m not that impressed.

Oh I’m upgrading for sure. I have the 3gs though, and I wouldn’t upgrade if I had a 4.
