We had our church Halloween party tonight, which means we dressed up a little bit earlier than everyone else. Originally I called T1′s outfit the Lumberjack but based on comments at the activity I’m going to go with Mountain Man. The hat and “beard” were made by my grandma, the shirt is from Costco, the pants from Poland, and the shoes were borrowed from a friend. I made his axe (which he destroyed in less than 10 minutes) by cutting a shape out of cardboard and covering it with tinfoil. That was then attached to the handle of a spatula from the kitchen.

I know it’s all over Pinterest, but this is still my favorite couples costume ever.

To go along with the forest/hunting/mountain theme, I went as a deer. I copied the makeup from a Pinterest pin and made my antlers with tinfoil and white paint.

Yes! I am so happy I managed to get some pictures of him with his beard on.

I could not have done this without our friends, who followed T1 around the whole night so I could run the photo booth. There are so many inventive costumes and cute kids, but I don’t have model releases so I won’t be showing them here. My favorite? The family who dressed on a Harry Potter theme. Lord Voldemort (dad), Dolores Umbridge (mom), Bellatrix Lestrange (sister), Rita Skeeter (sister), and Harry Potter (brother).

TH is gone for a conference this weekend. I hope he can be here next year so we can do a family theme costume! I’m pretty happy with our (free) get-ups this year though.

T1 looks adorable. I love your dress with the colorful tights. I always wear black or brown tights. I need to mix it up.

I love the lumberjack! Those knit beard hats floating around the itnerwebs are sooo cute. My university’s mascot is the Lumberjack so it’s on my list of easy and adorable kid things to do one day.
Mary Poppins is my dream costume (the red coat costume).

An unintended one. I decided to cut back to 30 minutes a day devoted to That Wife and I’ve been holding firm. I don’t think I realized how time consuming this site was for me!
