Ix-nay On the Time Travel

Posted by Jenna, Under Married Life

This weekend, That Husband turned to me and said “This is the first time in my life that, if given the opportunity, I would not go back in time because doing so might prevent us from being together.”

Insert me sighing and saying “Awwwwww” here.

Admittedly, my lifestyle is pretty easy at the moment. But even if it weren’t so delightful, I would still completely agree.

laughing together

I should add that when I asked him why he wanted to go back in time on other occasions he replied “So I could use my knowledge of the future to make money off of the stock market.” In so many ways, that perfectly describes my husband.

I hope that you can think of a time in your life when you have felt this way.

  2. I love these moments when life is just…perfectly in place solely because he’s there. We just had our one year this last weekend and it’s funny the things you think about.

we were getting ready for bed one night and i turned to branden and said “i love you so much…i would give my life for you!” and then i stopped and thought about it and said “but then you would have to live without me…so nevermind..” and in connection to that… i loved the post about temples. i cannot tell you how grateful i am for the blessing we have that we get to be married to our lovers forever. it’s like guaranteed eternal bliss. :)

TH pushing back time to work the stock market…classic.

  6. It’s funny I sometimes miss the good ol college days where one didn’t have to worry about insurance or kids or the like. But then I don’t think I could ever really go back either, I’ve watched so many people change since then and I’m sure I have as well.

But as soon as I get that time maching built I am so going to invest $2.

  7. Does That Husband enjoy Back to the Future II? That’s funny - could he go back in time and make some serious bank on Apple/Tivo/Honda for me?

  8. That is too cute. It’s hard for me to answer this- I would never want to change where I am today. I would love to change so much about my past. I don’t know if that bit of reuluctance to say that will ever go away. Hopefully when I have children, I suppose.

  9. I feel the same way but I know that no matter what I did during my time traveling adventures, it wouldn’t matter. Something might change but we’d get together eventually. Because we are meant to be together. You can’t change fate.
