Where I Live
RKSquared is participating in Project 365 (I think I will do this next year, after my 365 days of blog posting are over), and last week she posted a simple picture of the Post Office in her hometown. It got me thinking about where I live, where I have lived in the past, and if I will be able to remember all of those places someday.
Internet, this is where I live.
It was a strange day to be taking pictures because there had been an ice storm the night before. I’ve never seen an ice storm before this, and it’s a really interesting experience. It’s different from hail and snow, it’s literally just ice.
I swear to you that there was a girl sunbathing by the pool just last week. I’ve never seen weather stranger than what I have experienced in the few months living through winter here.
I’m thinking about asking my sister to make this a little side project while she is still at BYU. I would really like to have pictures of the outside of all the different places I lived while I was there. And I realized that I don’t think I’ve ever taken any of my childhood home either. Well actually my childhood trailer. Did you know I grew up in two double wides stuck together?
With how many pictures you take and post I’d think doing the 365 challenge would be second nature for you.

2Hm.I think if you are childless still, the 365 will be very easy. It may be more difficult with a little one!
I wish it was warm enough to sunbathe here. Sigh. It isn’t even that warm indoors.
I grew up in single and double wides, in large part. In my small southern towns, you would have been considered rich for your two double wides!

Actually I think the 365 is much easier when you have children! My focus would be on taking pretty pictures, not just random ones, and right now I don’t have a lot of things to take pictures of (other than food). With a child I can always take pictures of the baby!

That’s a great point! Children are lovely photographic subjects

Wow! That looks like a nice place. I’ve also never weathered an ice storm - everything usually turns to ice after a chinook has blown through.
What was it like living in a trailer? I’ve only lived in my parent’s house and in my current condo, so I have no idea.

My mom did such a wonderful job at decorating our house. It may have been two trailers stuck together, but you would never guess it.. it was a home. My mom to this day wants to build a house to move in to, but I love the house we grew up in! It is so nice! Many mice may be able to find their way in, but that is the only thing that really stinks about it. Especially since I HATE mice more than anything! I probably hate them so much because I would randomly see one run across the floor, or floating in my toilet one morning (that was a wierd one!). Jenna will attest the the disgusting mice in the house!

5I have a question.
Prior to the Project365 what did Jenna do? I just always thought blogging was like your other extremity! ;o) to keep in touch/contact with your family who may not be present.
Now… AFTER Project365- what would your life be like without blogging as much? Do you think Project365 made you realize that capturing your life in a snap shot has added perspective and further reflection on your own life? Or has it been somewhat of a burden? In a previous post you said you had a lot to do, and that a big part of the ‘a lot to do’ was to finish school.
So how has blogging to achieve the Project365 goal contributed to, enhanced, or caused minor grief to you?
I don’t know if I could keep up with 365 days of picture taking… my life is a rotation of doing routine things… And if after all the running around- stopping and reflecting on my day… it might be overwhelming for me. Because we jam pack so much these days! We wear the hat of worker, wife (or fiance), student, daughter, sister, friend… or maybe it’s just me. I get overwhelmed quite easily. I am desperately trying to have a simple fulfilling life. But being in graduate school, and working, and wedding planning is putting a slight damper in my goal. =o)

6Wow, I am so far behind in reading blog posts that I haven’t even added your new rss feed to my gReader! (Will do as soon as I’m done typing this.)
@kaitlyn (& Jenna) I definitely think having children would make a 365 project easier. I know the days are more hectic, but if you look at my pictures, you’ll see that a large majority of them are pictures of our dog. Although others may not appreciate seeing her mug on my blog all of the time, these are by far my favorite pictures, and I never get tired of taking pictures of her. I can’t imagine what this would be like if I had kids right now!
@Katherine I have only been doing my 365 project for a month, but I have really loved it. There have been a couple of days when it was a struggle to find something to capture, but for the most part I find myself being inspired by the “little” things in my daily life. It definitely helps that I love taking pictures, and this project guarantees that I will spend at least a little bit of time everyday doing something that I love.

7Ice storms are unique experiences. Especially, when it is freezing rain. It stays exactly how it lands. It is very beautiful, but there really isn’t a way to drive on them, since you cannot get traction. It is like driving on glass.
