One Thing
I tend to avoid these because I have so many other things I want to say, but I thought this one from Peonies and Polaroids was too lovely to pass up.
One picture, one poem, one song, one quote, one item of clothing, one place and one Disney princess.

One Poem
Introduction to Poetry
I ask them to take a poem
and hold it up to the light
like a color slide
or press an ear against its hive.
I say drop a mouse into a poem
and watch him probe his way out,
or walk inside the poem’s room
and feel the walls for a light switch.
I want them to waterski
across the surface of a poem
waving at the author’s name on the shore.
But all they want to do
is tie the poem to a chair with rope
and torture a confession out of it.
They begin beating it with a hose
to find out what it really means.
Billy Collins
One Song
One Quote
My comfort is that old age, that ill layer-up of beauty, can do no more spoil upon my face. Thou hast me, if thou hast me, at the worst, and thou shalt wear me, if thou wear me, better and better.
.-Henry V, Shakespeare, Act 5, scene ii
One Item of Clothing
JCrew (Where else?)
One Place
I miss the frozen yogurt and my best friends, all found in Utah (and Boise! ).
One Disney Princess
I loved her then because she had brown hair and loved to read. I love her now because she is kind and has the kind of library I dream of having myself one day.
I hope you’ll float Texas rivers this summer! Not quite such beautiful scenery, but it’s still lovely and you’d have a blast!
Oh Belle, she’s my favorite too! FI and I are looking for houses now and with each one I’m saying, yeah, but which room will my library be in?

1I love the picture of you (right?) tubing and the J.Crew dress. Speaking of dresses, can you usually order a longer version of a dress like that (not sure if you’re petite or not) and get it to work with a little tailoring? Or do you just have to shop for things which all naturally meet your standards. And if this question is confusing, I am assuming that showing knees isn’t okay for you.

2I always loved the dressing down Belle gave Gaston too. Take that arrogant jerks.

3Belle is my favorite, too! For all the same reasons. My fiance’s favorite is Ariel, because she falls in love with Prince Eric, and his name is Eric.

6I love that dress from J.Crew!! I think it is perfect for work!
Belle and Ariel are my favorite, they were created by the same guy who has custom tiles in the shape of Ariel on the bottom of his pool. I think there is something about Disney Princesses that makes people happy!

7I am most likely moving to Utah for my PhD (at the U in SLC). I would love to know 1) where that photo was taken and 2) where to find good frozen yogurt!
I’m really excited, because I’ve never lived out west and the pictures you’ve posted are all so beautiful!
