Using a $50 off coupon I received at WPPI, I ordered a 24X36 gallery wrap canvas from Nations Photo Lab for $130 (originally $180). When it came in the mail yesterday I ripped open the package and inhaled deeply at the wonderful smell of chemically treated 1 3/4″ canvas.
Buy why am I not smiling in this photo? (It does look gorgeous from far away and with this lighting doesn’t it!)
It’s really hard to get a good pictur eof it, but there is a faint blue line about an inch away from the outline of our profiles that is definitely not present in the original photo (I’ve looked at the original several times to check).
You can see it very faintly in this picture. Kelli Nichole is staying with me for a few days, and she saw it as soon as I did, and when That Husband came home he saw it as well.
Can you see it here?
I also don’t like the blue bleed that is near TH’s hairline.
I really need to get on the phone with Nations Photo Lab and figure out what their return policy is. If they have none, I guess I’ll be giving American Express a call to see if I can tap into their supposedly amazing extended warranty program.
At least now I know I won’t want to use them for Jenna Cole!

That sucks. You’d think with something that pricy they could do a quality job! I hope you’re able to get it redone properly!

Damn, that sucks. It doesn’t look like the best quality of canvas either and for that money you should be getting some amazing stuff.

Oh Noes! Hope that you get the result you want.
(And for a completely unsolicited recommendation, I use Photopipe and have been extremely happy with them. I may be a little biased, since the lab is on my way to work and I can just drop in to pick up my prints, and I cannot speak to the quality of their larger canvas prints, but their sales are great and I think they may still offer a sample pack of their papers, which includes a small canvas print. http://www.myphotopipe.com/ )

Wow,that is not fun. I hope you can get your money back and find another place to get this kind of wrap- it’s gorgeous from far away.
Also, love the photography lessons this week. ISO was very informative. It’s been so crazy this week I didn’t get a chance to read (much less comment) until today. Thanks for the hard-work posts

That is really unfortunate. But I love that photo, and I think you chose a great one for the gallery wrap.

Ugh. What a disappointment. I do have a question about the image though…since you chose one with just half of your faces showing, does that mean you only love each other half as much??
Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Um…I can’t find the errors. I feel like I’ve failed at “Where’s Waldo?” or “I Spy” or something. Dang!

I CAN see it! SORRY! The good news is that AMEX is usually fantastic with disputes. You can do it all online and never even have to call them. GOOD LUCK!

I didn’t notice the line until i saw it up close- but knowing myself it would drive me crazy too. My friend Evin uses Simply Canvas and their quality is outstanding- I think they might be kinda expensive though. Worth looking into, though!
