I’m back from wearing the largest pants that have ever been placed on my body in a building where I was completely surrounded by Dallas Cowboys paraphernalia. I went to Blue Star Imaging on Cowboys Pkwy, so I guess I should have expected it to be THE place for all of the Dallas Cowboy imaging needs.
The sun was shining right behind my head the whole time I was in the machine, so claustrophobia wasn’t really an issue, just an overwhelming desire to move. Staying still for long stretches of time isn’t really something I am good at (see this post for further proof).I just kept reminding myself that moving might mean being in there even longer, and that would be some of the worst news the technician could deliver to me.
Oh and she gave me headphones and I listened to the Fray, that was nice. Also I’m not wearing a bra in this picture. (TMI?)
Everyone has been really kind, wishing me luck and saying they would pray for me. You are all so kind. I didn’t expect anything like that since it’s just so normal for me to have this pain now, you know? It would be like if you said “I’m going to the dentist today.” I wouldn’t wish you luck for that, because it is normal. All of this feels so anti-climatic for some reason.
I hope to get in to see the Dr. on Thursday, so I should have some answers to share with you by Friday. I don’t really know what would be good news at this point. Surgery? Months of PT? Acupuncture?

Yay for being done!!! I hope it yields something eye opening- so they can narrow down how to make you feel better!!! Good job for doing it! I know how frustrating the medical process can be. (I love the blue pants on you, this is a look you should do more often… j/k)

Hopefully once they have a better idea of what is causing the pain, they will have a better way to treat it. My husband and I have both spent a significant amount of time in physical therapy, and we’ve both seen huge results (I’ve been going weekly for over a year now for a chronic problem; he went for 5 months before and after knee surgeries) — if they know what they are trying to fix, and you go on a regular, consistent basis, and (the most important part) you practice your exercises at home as much as you are supposed to in order to strengthen the proper muscles, it can have a huge benefit. I hope if it is what they decide for you, you have as much success as we have!
Though, I just have to add — boo Cowboys!

I pray the test results and necessary steps to resolve the pain are not too terrible!

I just stumbled on your site going through wedding blogs as my son is getting married. Seeing your pain I have to share my story with you. Last year I too was having all kinds of hip, thigh, leg, calf pain and pressure point pain. Couldn’t ride in a car very long. Could hardly go up and down stairs.)Had a hard time walking after sitting very long. I’m 53. My dr. claimed bursitis. Chiropractor sent me to a massage therapist who suggested fibromylgia because she could hardly touch me. Then I heard about a clinic in Waco (I live east of Dallas) that does “stretching and balancing”. They work on all major sports figures including the Dallas Cowboys. My pastor had gone and gotten relief from back pain. I went and found out my hips and lots of joints in my body were out of balance. After my first session I got off the table feeling 15 years younger…not hurting for the first time in 3 years. They really made a difference in my life…the pain is gone…came home and could run up and down stairs! Email me and I will be glad to give you more info and their number.

I hope you get an answer! Nothing worse than trying to treat something when you don’t know the cause. Good luck!

There’s a Cowboys Parkway??
Honestly?
Dallas fans are too crazy!
Though I’m one to talk. Philadelphia is more than likely the city with the most enraged fans. People chant “E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES” while at baseball games.
PS. The eagle is not our baseball mascot.
Glad to hear that things went well!

Glad to hear it went as well as could be hoped. And also glad that we could remind you… ::chants:: pain is not normal, pain is not normal.

It only seems fitting that you wore those blue pants to your Blue Star MRI. They do look rather on the Cowboys blue side.
I’m glad everything went well. They used to give me music to listen to at the dentist’s office and from then on there were certain songs I always associated with being at the dentist. Hopefully you won’t have that problem.

I can’t believe the pain you’ve been in! I’m such a baby - if I had half the pain you’re describing I’d be constantly complaining and my husband would have me committed.
I know this won’t take the pain away, but your hair looks great in the picture.

I’m glad that the MRI experience went well. When I had one … I listened to the Four Seasons by Vivaldi, and found myself going to my happy place in my mind to try and avoid moving at all. I’ll keep sending you positive thoughts as you head towards getting more information.

I think it’s so wonderful how you don’t feel self-conscious posting pictures of yourself on here! If my face looked like that, I’d probably put a bag over my head and never go out, but you just smile anyways! Bless your heart!

Ha! Given the fact there is no picture of you (or link to anywhere) I’m guessing you’re in that other group - walking with a bag over your head. Take it off Ashley, it’s OK! I’ve seen a lot of faces in my life, and let me tell you, there’s a guy who will like yours, no matter what it looks like. Also, learn to smile (use That Wife as a role model if you need one) and look positively at the world. Life is a lot happier that way.

Ashley, that’s really unnecessary. If you have such a problem with That Wife, then stop reading her posts, and the rest of us to enjoy them in peace. Thanks.

what a horrible thing to say! really, why would you take the time to insult someone on their own blog - just don’t read it if you don’t like it.
That Wife is gorgeous, inside and out.
