  2. That’s intense. Mr. Bean says it’s too intense for him on a Saturday morning at 8 o’clock before breakfast.

I guess that’s why lots of people are having lots of stress related problems - their lives are on the exponential fast track and are getting too complicated.

  5. Not sure that we’re preparing our children for anything like what the world really is…. everyone’s so big on this “love yourself and have confidence that you are great just the way you are” and the rest of the world is supposed to validate that. My high school sports policy was “no cuts” - every kid that wanted to play got to play. I don’t think that’s beautiful, I think that’s ridiculous. Nobody had to try and the strongest performers were as rewarded as the kid who’d never kicked a soccer ball before. This Mr. Rogers generation is panicking about the hostile takeover of India and China, and they want to maintain our status quo (barely learning another language in high school and then forgetting it as soon as you graduate) just because our lives have always had the US at the top.

Moral of the story - stay in school, study hard, and learn more than the minimum to get by. Being “the nice kid” is fine if you don’t have any interest in living in a big city, making millions, or learning how other cultures live (through travel, not books).

  6. This video overwhelms me. It makes me want to stay a DINK forever. Thank goodness criminal defense can’t be outsourced, or I would be moving to China.

  7. In the words of Marty McFly, “Whoa, this is heavy!”

That’s incredible! What an amazing world we leaving in that our technology not only exists, but our knowledge of it expands dramatically on a constant basis. Both awesome and daunting all at the very same time.

  8. As incredible as all that information is, I find it a bit overwhelming and in a word scary. Makes me envious of a life 100 years ago where there was far less to worry ourselves with.
