I’m supposed to be in bed sleeping right now because That Husband and I are getting up super early to drive down to Houston! It’s his last week on the Houston case (he’ll be assigned to another in a different location) and since his trip is only Monday-Tuesday he is letting me tag along. I’ve been begging him to let me come for weeks, not only because the girl who took this picture lives down there:

But because I get to stay here on the company dime:

Since it is someone’s (I’m not telling who!) birthday on Saturday, we’re also splurging and eating out at a super fancy Italian restaurant, a place we can only afford to eat at because TH gets X amount of dollars to spend on food when he is travelling. So the company pays for him, and we pay for me.

Now, don’t get all green with envy over our little mini vacation. I’ll likely get 10 hours of alone time with my husband throughout the 2-day trip (not counting sleeping, and counting the 8 hour drive down and back), and I would gladly trade in the free night at the hotel for more than 4 days a week with the man I have only been married to for 9 months.

I have a post scheduled for tomorrow, but I’ll be without internet on my laptop for about 36 hours between them (oh the horror!) I’ll be tuning in to all of your lovely comments with my blackberry in the meantime. Au Revoir!
