Fashionably Modest: Patti
It worked! Someone submitted! I was going to be so bummed if no one contributed and I had to keep digging up outfits from my own sad wardrobe to show you.
Disclaimer: I’ve met Patti in real life (you can see photos here) and she’s a happy smiling person. She got a friend to take her picture and he wasn’t too excited about venturing outside in the morning before work for a photoshoot so he only took one and she wasn’t quite ready.
Sweater: Brand- Old Navy (a gift, 3 years ago)
Undershirt: Ruffle Front Tank, Brand- Old Navy; $3.99 (on sale, two years ago)
Jeans: Laguna Skinny, Brand- Hollister; $49.50
Shoes: Frankie Black Patent Flats, Brand: BP. Shoes; Found at- Nordstrom; $59.95

Cute! I have those exact kind of shoes- black patent flats- and I got them for $5 at Payless
I really like the blue of the cardigan against the undershirt, it goes well with her dark hair. I’m looking forward to more from this series Jenna, awesome idea

1Haha, I can’t believe I submitted this picture!
But for everyone who reads this, I wanted to do a fashionably modest entry because I’m mom who likes to be covered up but still trendy, and I have to shop on a tight budget!
I hope more people will submit because I think Jenna’s idea for this series is great! Who doesn’t like talking about clothes?!

2I’m excited that this new series is getting started, because I agree with Patti’s comment above, “who doesn’t like talking about clothes?”.
I really like the blue w/the coral/red….I’ve drooled over those colors on inspiration boards, but never thought to mix them in clothing. Thanks for the great idea!

3I love this outfit! Those two colors really compliment each other nicely.
Jenna, I have a random question - I know you posted in the past about getting a vinyl decal for your bedroom wall, but did you ever buy it and post a picture of it on your wall? I am looking into getting one and I wanted to see yours hung up….I could have sworn you posted it, but I couldn’t find anything
Thanks!

8I am so jealous of you people who can wear skinny jeans and ballet flats! I wear it and it does nothing but accentuate my gymnasts thighs.

Word lady. Same here. Skinny jeans and ballet flats are both the least flattering things on curvy short girls. I’ve tried and I feel like it just looks ridiculous.

10How fabulously fashionable! I love this, and will most definitely have to put together my own outfit…

11Super cute color combination! I have a very similar sweater and will try the bright color under, instead of my usual white tee.

12What a cute outfit! Jenna - I love this series. I spend most of my life in pajamas (work from home) and have pretty much lost the ability to dress myself. My closet is a rainbow of boring J Crew tank tops and I can’t wait to get inspiration from you and your readers!
