I Have Trouble Dressing Myself

Posted by Jenna, Under Personal

Thought you might enjoy seeing how I dress myself for church when I’m in a hurry.

Does that shrug look a little high on the back of the neck? And a little loose around the bust? I had to keep tugging on it all through the meetings to try to get it to stay where it was supposed to. I had never had this problem with it before. I guess it must have shrunk in the washer.

Could it be that it was *gasp* upside down?

At the very end of church two wonderful ladies came up to me and said “Jenna, your shrug is upside down.”

Oh… so that’s what the problem was.

So I reversed it.

Doesn’t that look so much better?

Don’t mind me, I’m just the 24 year old girl who can’t dress herself!

A big thank you to TH for taking these great photos!

Happy Friday! Don’t forget to laugh at yourself every once in awhile. :)

  1. Haha ohh I’ve done this before. It usually happens with lounge shorts/pants.

On a side note: my mom has that dress in green/white/pink belt! (That’s totally not to say that it’s a “mom” dress, she’s very fashionable, as are you.)

  2. I love this outfit, and I never would have noticed the shrug was upside down! I thought it looked cute the way it sort of came up around your neck! Shows you what I know. Where’s the dress from!?

  3. Ha, you’re too cute! I’ve done this before, but rather than upside down, my sweater was inside out - tag showing and all! Hate that!

  7. The dress is cute. I’ve worn clothes inside-out to work more times than I care to admit.

  8. This is why I avoid shrugs. If I have a hard time figuring out something at the store, I avoid it like the plague. My layering solution? The summer cropped cardigan from Gap. I wait for them to go on sale each summer and buy a couple in various colors. I’m building quite the collection. Although, like Jill, I have been guilty of wearing them inside out. It’s always nice to put on a show for other drivers stopped at the intersection while I rectify the mistake.

  11. Honestly, I didn’t notice anything was wrong with your shrug, but I’m not surprised as it wouldn’t be unlikely for me to do something similar. haha.

  12. I’ll admit that I didn’t notice anything wrong with it either! haha.

I’ve caught myself occasionally wearing certain undergarments inside out before and never noticed until I was retiring for the night :)

I’ve down the inside out so many times though, usually my husband tells me… oops

  15. I do silly stuff like that ALL the time! My Old Navy tees are the worst - if I’m not looking for their screen-printed tag, I am likely to wear them inside out!

  20. It actually looked like a cute neckline with the higher back. You should look fro a shrug that is supposed to do that. :)
I did almost the exact same thing last week - I put on my gym shorts backwards and because they were so tight on the butt I was so upset that I must have gained a lot of weight. My husband tried not to laugh as he pointed out that they were on backwards. OOps.
