The City That Never Sleeps Made Me Sleepy

Posted by Jenna, Under Adventures

This place, is exhausting. So much walking. So much to see. Not that I didn’t sleep in each and every morning like the pregnant lady I am. I think I’m going to write about how much I love traveling alone because, oh yeah, I LOVED IT.

I ate at lots of yummy places (lots of pictures of food to come tomorrow!), went up the Empire State Building, saw Mary Poppins, had a few fabulous photography sessions (one involved meeting “Barbara Streisand”, air quotes necessary), and partied with 20 or so awesome bees.

Can you find me (Avocado) on this chart?

Spent some time with one of my favorite families and got a chance to take more pictures of my favorite baby ever. (For right now, of course That 1 will be my favorite baby come April).

One of the very few pictures of me taken on the trip can be seen below. When you are the photog with a very expensive camera and no travel partner you don’t hand your pride and joy over to strangers so they can take your photo very often.

And if you comment and say you like my baby bump I’ll kick you in the face. It’s a food baby people. I’m not proud of it, but it’s there. Baby bump will make it’s appearance soon enough!

More to come tomorrow!

  2. Oh, it sounds like it was amazing! I can’t wait to spend some time in NYC. Mr J and I are thinking of doing a road trip across America, I wonder if I can figure out a way to shoot my way across to make moolah!

P.S. You look great, no bump of any king that I can see (yet).

  3. Awe such an adorable little girl. How was Mary Poppins? I’ve always been a touch sort of scared/awe of her since I was really little and first saw it. The kind of scared/awe one has for a strict but still kind kindergarten teacher.

As you already know, I’m jealous of you for Mary Poppins. :-) Now tell me more about “Barbra Streisand”! Was it an impersonator? (I ADORE Babs, just for the record. I mean, I’m sure she’s a total bitch in real life, but I LOVE her.)

  5. Come back soon! It was so much fun to see you and talk birth with you. Can’t wait for That 1 to make her/his arrival! Eli was so sad when we said goodbye - “I want my fwiend to come back!”

  6. I’m so jealous!! I’ve always wanted to see NYC, but I just can’t justify the trip yet. Hopefully, there will be another ‘bee get-together that would be the perfect excuse! :)

  7. I’m glad that you had such a good trip! I have to admit that I’m slightly jealous - no solo trips for me in September - school eats away so much time!

Looking forward to seeing more picture!

  8. The picture is darker, so I don’t know how anyone could comment on any sort of bump! But I laughed at the ‘i’ll kick you in the face’ remark…I feel like that after I have a baby when I still look 5 months pregnant for a few weeks. I dread someone asking when I’m due and then I feel like kicking them in the face. Of course there are those girls that go back to being pencil thin the minute they give birth - they are 1% freakazoids and I could never be friends with them. ;)
