We are packing up today and tomorrow and moving on Thursday so posting will be frivolous for a few days. Hopefully I’ll have pictures of the new apartment to show you tomorrow. I’ll be cleaning out some of my bookmarked sites and I’m going to start with a link I know some of you will love, to more 350 free Photoshop actions.

Most of my photos are processed using the not-so-free Totally Rad Actions (I own both sets), but I use Pioneer Woman’s free actions really frequently as well.

MCP Actions ran a tutorial on how to install actions on their Facebook Fan Page. Since you have to login and add them for the link to work, I didn’t even bother posting it.

I just downloaded a free trial of PS Elements and found a couple free actions online but I was wondering if you know of any good resources for free PS Elements actions. Thanks!

Thanks for that. I am just learning the intricacies of Photoshop - I am so amazed by the difference it can make! I am trying to always have one favourite SOOC shot to remind myself that natural is beautiful too.

I do have one question - do you use actions like this on all your photographs or do you just to basic adjustments and then have clients pay for the additional time involved in edited shots? Or is the time-cost factored into your overall rate?

I downloaded those actions, but I found most of them really hard to work with. The TRAs and PW actions are so easy to apply and mess around with the layer stregths. I hate actions that create a new picture separately, which some of these did. But there might be some hiding in there that are still worth it!
What are your favourite actions, Jenna? I only have TRA 1, but I wouldn’t be able to do anything without Magic Glasses, Oh Snap and PW’s Boost and Soft & Faded. I also love both PW’s black and white actions, as well as TRA’s, and I love Rusty Cage on an old building, and Antique tone on lots of stuff!

This may be a silly question, but when I download these things where do I need to save them to and do I need to some how install them? I swear I know more about computers than it sounds, but I am just clueless on this aspect. Thanks!

I can’t see the images in the post and it makes me sad. I lurrrve actions.
Very cool things to use- but I really want to take some PS classes so I don’t depend on them as a crutch.
