Soon (soon!) I am going to write another real Sunday post, probably about the Bible and the Book of Mormon as that is my next Article of Faith to cover, but I can’t pass up the chance to share this video. Dallin H. Oaks (the older gentleman you see speaking from the pulpit) is one of my favorite Apostles and I love the way he almost sings “If I were a Rich Man” when speaking about Tevya from Fiddler on the Roof.I love this time of year, and the reminder it provides of how much we have to be grateful for!
To echo some of the people on the video I’m also thankful for the love of my parents, and the example they’ve shown me. Future opportunities. Beautiful mild weather. And macaroni and cheese.

“I am thankful for muffins. And doughnuts.” They forgot mashed potatoes!
I love the way that the kid in the red shirt used the “thankful for” as a chance to complain about most everything. Quite amusing.

So I know you don’t watch Bones anymore, but there is one episode where they investigate the murder of a chef and when they are talking about the restaurant, they talk about macaroni and cheese and Angela looks at Booth and says “really?” and Booth goes, “Mac & Cheese - that’s God’s handiwork.”
I couldn’t agree more. As thankful as I am for my family, my fiance, my friends, and my future, I can’t help but be thankful for the heavenly simplicity of macaroni and cheese.

Guess what? I started watching Bones again! I know the whole thing was difficult for everyone to understand, and I’ll just say that it was given up because it was asked of me and logically I didn’t see any reason to fight against it so I didn’t.
ANYWAY.
I know the scene. And I laughed as well.

Don’t you just love the “Mormon Messages”?! I think I will actually use this video for my Thanksgiving “Thankful” post. It actually goes along really well with what is planned for the day.
Right now, I think I’m thankful for the idea I had to do my “Thankful” posts because I think I’ve found so many more reasons to be happy with life right now. It reminds me of the hymn, “Count Your Many Blessings”.

I am a wee bit more than slightly obsessed with macaroni and cheese. The Kraft kind. End of story.

Oh my, you are still eating Kraft? You really should try the whole wheat & white cheddar stuff I love, one of them is made by Annie’s: http://www.annies.com/organicmacandcheese
Several reasons:
1. It’s delicious
2. It’s not a scary artificial color
3. It’s full of fiber so you’ll feel better about yourself when you finish it

I’m thankful for Jesus. For my church. Babies. Books I can lose myself in. Energy drinks, and long naps. Writing. Great friends.
I could go on, but I think the moral of my story is that I’m thankful for quite a lot!

“…If I were a rich man,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I’d biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man!
I wouldn’t have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man…”
I couldn’t help it! I played in the pit orchestra of my high school’s senior musical and loved having the opportunity to be a part of The Fiddler on the Roof production!
This year I am thankful for all the blessings Christ sent my way… this past year and the upcoming year! =o)
