The 2010 Posting Schedule

Posted by Jenna, Under blog

I wrote yesterday about my plans to revamp my approach to Sunday post blogging by creating a schedule, and I like the idea so much that I’m going to try doing the same thing Monday-Friday as well. I confess I can’t understand how people can think there is nothing to blog about, as I have well over 50 posts that I would love to sit down and pound out if I could just find the time! I try to keep a running list of ideas I want to write about, but all too often time marches on so quickly that writing about the topic in question won’t work because it’s dated by the time I get to it. I’m very used to only posting one thing per day by now due to my 365 blogging challenge, but I think I’d like to try something new in 2010.

If you are a longtime reader you have probably noticed that I write almost exclusively about one topic for each post. I tend to have a lot to say so I have to limit myself or else no one would want to read my overly profuse musings. Beginning today, 3ach day of the week will be assigned a specific topic, those things in life I am currently most interested in writing about. Posts on those topics will only go up on those days, and if I don’t get anything written for that day there won’t be a post (if I can get past the strange anxiety that comes from not posting every day, but let’s not delve into this ridiculous new idiosyncrasy of mine). I also might start posting more than once a day again, if I have a particular topic I can’t stop expounding on. I’m hoping this will help me write more frequently about pregnancy as I experience it, not just my plans, or things that have happened in the past. Posts will still be topical though. I’m a topical poster for life I think.

The schedule for the next few months will be as follows. Obviously after baby comes two of these topics are going to be dropped, and new ones will be supplemented. (To those who say I won’t blog after the baby comes I say “Ha!”. What do you think they invented this and this for?*)

Sunday-Religious

Monday-Weight/Food/Diet

Tuesday-Photography

Wednesday-Labor/Birth

Thursday-Pregnancy

Friday-EADL link/Misc.

Saturday-Misc.

I already have all of my posts for the week planned! I’m liking this new system already.

*In all seriousness, I realize things are going to change after baby comes. I realize I will have less time, less sleep, less of pretty much everything except breastmilk and human waste. I find hope in the other mommy bloggers I know who have managed to squeeze in posts after baby though!

Wow you are getting yourself organized with your posts! I am just a lowly graduate student with too much internet time on my hands, and love any excuse to be in touch with the ‘outside-normal-world’. Your blog allows me to see what normal people are doing outside the hum-drum of graduate student life. And what I want to try to re-achieve once grad school is over. (TWO MORE QUARTERS BTW! JUNE 2010!)
And now that I am pregnant! I am so glad to be following on the heels of other people who have gone before me and openly muse their thoughts on the transition between newlywed to mom! Looking forward to all the upcoming posts.
I am kind of more interested in reading about aches and pains and food aversions you may have experienced and how you are managing with that… I think as a nurse I am totally over the whole health maintenance aspect. I am going through all the psych-social stuff… like… the weight gain, staying fit during pregnancy, how my relationship will change… that inner dialogue of ‘who am I and who am I becoming… how am I getting ready for that?’ But maybe that’s just me. =o)
