This is it my friends! I’m sad to say it’s all over for now, but I hope to one day make some money with this little blog of mine and do something similar once again. (Did you know that’s how Pioneer Woman does all of her awesome giveaways? She uses money gained through advertising!)
I wanted to end this giveaway by giving one of you the chance to own something to treasure for years to come. I learned of the bowls crafted by Paloma’s Nest while planning my wedding but didn’t purchase any of her pieces because I couldn’t think of a way to justify using them for the wedding. I bought one to give to a friend at a bridal shower and came thisclose to keeping it for myself. Lucky for me I have a wonderful husband who commissioned a custom piece and gave it to me for my 24th birthday.
I love Caroline’s work, and I’m fascinated by her story and the way she’s built her business (she went from a little Etsy store to being featured in Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine!). I’ve met her once at a workshop I attended and I’m pretty sure I freaked her out by exclaiming “You’re the creator the Paloma’s Nest bowls? I love you!”.
The winner of this last giveaway will receive a $30 gift certificate toward anything in the Paloma’s Nest shop. To enter this last giveaway in the Favorite Things Giveaway Week, please indulge me by answering the following question in the comments:
How often do you check in and read That Wife? Why do you keep coming back?
Comments close at 11:59 pm on 2/26/2010, and the winner will be announced on Saturday. Entries that don’t answer the question will be deleted because I like when people follow directions.
Totally narcissistic question today I know, but it’s always nice to hear why people are visiting my little space in the blogosphere!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:11 pm
I come a few times a week because I love reading about your pregnancy, hearing your unique voice come through in your posts, and seeing your gorgeous pictures!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:16 pm
I am a faithful google reader subscriber, but I check in on your comments every now and then to see if everyone’s playing nicely. I come back because you make me think!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:16 pm
I’ve been following you since your WeddingBee days (I’ve been engaged 2 years! getting married in 2 months!) and visit your blog a few times a week, and daily, when I’m not in school. I love reading about your life with That Husband, and I love how you just speak your mind. Your not afraid to voice your opinions on certain (test-y) subjects. Plus, as Kate said, I do love hearing about your pregnancy (and seeing gorgeous maternity pics!). Keep up what your doin!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:18 pm
I check it at least once a day, even though I barely comment! I love your writing and find your life very interesting.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:18 pm
I have your blog in my google reader, which I check a few times a day…so basically whenever you post, I see it!
I really enjoy your style of writing, and your “no nonsense” attitude. (I’m not sure if that is a good way to describe it, but you basically say what you think and you sya it with conviction..so that is what I mean!) And of course, your beautiful photos! I also like that you talk about many different topics all in one place.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:19 pm
I check in via Google Reader 4 or 5 times a week because your posts are engaging and interesting, particularly your recent writing about pregnancy and childbirth. I didn’t grow up in a part of the country with much of an LDS population, so it’s interesting to learn more about the faith and culture.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:21 pm
During the week I check in every day - I have your blog on my rss feed reader - but sometimes I’ll check in a couple times a day just to be sure I’m not missing a post.
I keep coming back because you have great photography how to posts and looking at your photography and I love reading your pregnancy/birth posts.
Most of all I like the honest, straight forward approach you have towards blogging about any subject - even when I don’t necessarily agree with you, I like that you’re able to state your opinions and most often give a good background/basis for those opinions.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:21 pm
Every Single day..I keep coming back because I love your blog..you seem so sweet, real, and just a great person, and your blog is pretty great to read too!!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:22 pm
Ohhhh I love these!
I’m another daily reader as well! I’m subscribed through Google Reader - which I’m pretty sure I learned about FROM YOU! HEART!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:23 pm
I subscribe to you on Google Reader, so each time you update the blog, I read it! I check my google reader everyday and refresh it several times throughout the day (except weekends). I know you as Mrs. Avo originally and keep coming back to hear your take on things. I do not agree with you on a whole lotta things, but I do like learning from you and honestly? I kinda like the drama that goes on here. Maybe that is a stupid thing to say, but I definitely don’t have the courage to blog about some of the things you do and I wish I did. I guess I just live vicariously through your blogging endeavors.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:23 pm
I read That Wife everyday! It’s on my Google reader, of course. I keep coming back because you always have interesting things to say. I’m especially interested in your honest thoughts on your pregnancy and planning for the home birth. A non-hospital birth was never something I considered before reading your blog, and now it seems like a wonderful, refreshing alternative (someday — no babies on the way for a few years!).
February 26th, 2010 on 2:26 pm
I read everyday. You are in my Google Reader- I have suggested following you to at least 10 of my friends. You are so open and honest and I really like your POV. Its refreshing and I hope that never changes….
…. plus your baby belly is soooo darn cute!!!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:27 pm
I’ve been following you since Weddingbee as well. I’m not sure what really keeps me coming back.
I enjoy hearing stories about other peoples lives. I graduated from University with a degree in history and I find the personal history fascinating. Did you ever think of printing your blog off and creating a book to donate to a library/historical society so that in 100 years someone could write about your life in a historical context?(Please consider this!) And I’m always looking for new blogs that detail people’s everyday life.
You have been added to my google reader so I while I’m at work I have my reader open and I read all of the posts as they come in.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:27 pm
I stalk you via google reader and I check it everday. I come back b/c its fresh and fun, you’ve got a great writing “voice” and beautiful pictures. Im intrigued by all your research regarding birth and want to know how it plays out. I dont have the same beliefs as you and i disagree with you many things, but I respect you being entitled to your own opinion and see no reason why those things should ruffle my feathers.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:27 pm
You’re in my google reader so I read just as much as you post! I read because you’re so REAL and because I like you
February 26th, 2010 on 2:27 pm
I check Google Reader multiple times a day, so I read whenever a new post pops up. I’ve really enjoyed reading about all your pregnancy experiences and the research you’ve done (which I’ll probably refer to when that time comes for me) as well as seeing your photos.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:28 pm
I read That Wife every time a new post comes up because you are in my Google Reader. I keep coming back because although we have differing opinions on a few subjects, I like a lot of the stuff you do post about.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:29 pm
I’m a Google Reader subscriber, so I read That Wife everyday. I keep coming back because I think you are a thoughtful, well-spoken writer and you always have an interesting story to tell or opinion to share. We may not always agree on everything, but I love reading your blog every day to find out the latest adventures of Jenna, TH, and Baby. You seem like a genuinely nice person, Jenna, and someone who I would like to be friends with in real life!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:29 pm
You’re a good writer - and what you write makes me think… I read That Wife everyday
February 26th, 2010 on 2:29 pm
You’re in my reader girl. I think you’re fun, bright, and interesting and that’s why I keep coming back!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:30 pm
I check Google Reader every day, if not multiple times a day, for your updates. Your posts are such a refreshing break in my day - filled with humor, interesting information, or just more about you personally that I typically relate to.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:30 pm
I read at least once a day (my reader is open all day at work). I’m constantly refreshing to see if you, or anyone else for that matter, have added another post (perhaps I need to speak to my manager about getting me more to do??)
P
I’ve been a faithful reader since Weddingbee. I honestly was first intrigued by your faith. It was something I knew little about and was eager to learn more. But now I read b/c I enjoy your writing and the honesty you portray in your posts.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:30 pm
I found your blog within the last month and it has quickly become a favorite of mine. You are in my google reader and I check it like a.million.times.a.day. I love the stories you tell and I feel like I can really relate!
Have an amazing weekend!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:32 pm
Your blog’s on my Google Reader, so I read every post. One of my fave blogs because I like the honesty and, of course, all the pictures!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:32 pm
I honestly just found your site today!!! Lucky me.
I am on my way to bookmark/follow/subscribe…..whatever sort of stalking device you offer. Haha! Great site!!!
So, in the future, I will visit your blog when you post something.
And I’m excited to see what is in your archives until your next post. Thanks!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:35 pm
I have been reading since your WB days and I enjoy seeing all your posts (sp. the pregnancy ones!) so I click over here almost everyday!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:35 pm
I read your blog every day. Why? Because I appreciate your honesty and how much you stand by your convictions. We don’t have all of the same beliefs, but you always strive to educate people about where you are coming from. That and I loved your entries as Miss Avo on the ‘Bee!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:37 pm
I read via google reader, & I usually check in on mon, tues, thurs, fri (as that is when I am at work). Sometimes I’ll check my reader on the weekends & if you’ve posted then, I”ll read it. I like the variety of topics that you write about & that the majority of the posts you write are well thought out, researched posts. If it wasn’t for your posts on pregnancy, I don’t know that I would have realized all the options out there & started to educate myself, so I really, really appreciate you sharing your thoughts about that. Even when your posts are short & sweet I still enjoy reading them b/c you are an interesting person
February 26th, 2010 on 2:37 pm
I found you through a friend a few months ago, you are in my google reader so I look forward to checking each morning to see what you have to say. I like the variety of subjects plus the freedom of information you give. You are honest with your point of view and it gives us all another way to see things!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:40 pm
I probably check That Wife 1-2x a day. I usually read in the morning, but then will often come back later in the day to see comments and discussion. I really enjoy hearing about your life, thoughts and feel like you have a really great blogging voice that I can relate to as I read.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:41 pm
I check in anytime you post something new, as you’re in my google reader! I started reading you in your WB days, and I truthfully, I think you interested me because several years ago I lost a friend who was Mormon, and reading about your life made me think of her. I remember growing up, kids thinking she was “weird” because she never drank coffee, or because her Sundays were spent occupied all day with family & related activities, instead of out with friends. When I started reading you, I was reminded of her own struggles in finding a modest wedding dress, etc. It made me think of her (in fact, if you were living in Utah at the time-I think it was 2006 when she passed-she drowned in a lake in Orem, UT…you may have heard of the story-husband & wife drowned tragically & bodies of several other missing (for years) folks were found in the recovery of their bodies.). Anyway, reading about your life makes me think about how her married life would likely be if she and her husband were still around, as she held the same belief & values system that you do.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:42 pm
I come read your blog every day or every other day. I enjoy your writing and your point of view. Thank you for being so open about your life!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:42 pm
I keep up with your posts daily through my google reader (which, I’m pretty sure I started using after you blogged about it…) and I most often check your actual blog when I want to comment on something or see what others have said (and I usually end up commenting then too). We have a lot in common, but we differ in a lot of ways too. I enjoy reading what you have to say regardless of my own personal stance on what you are writing about, because I appreciate your honesty and openness. Plus we’ve become e-friends, and this is how I keep up with you. =)
February 26th, 2010 on 2:45 pm
I followed you over from Weddingbee, and I’m a Google Reader Subscriber. Since I’m usually bored at work and checking my feed regularly, I rarely go a day without reading your posts.
I keep reading because I think you have a unique perspective on things. I like hearing your opinions and about your pregnancy. And I especially love looking at your photography!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:47 pm
Miss Jenna,
I come by a couple of times a week to check in on your adventures in marriage and pregnancy, mostly because I greatly appreciate your honest and humble take on this crazy life we all lead.
SMOOCHES!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:47 pm
I check it everytime my Google Reader tells me you have a new post up. And i’m always so excited to see what subject you’ll be blogging about next! I just love that you cover a wide variety of topics and you’re always surprising me!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:47 pm
I subscribe on Google Reader, so I guess I come by everyday?
I like the stories, the photography, and watching your business grow. It’s an inspiration for my own little business!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:49 pm
I check my Google Reader multiple times during the day, so anytime you post, I see it! I like your blog because it gives me a fresh perspective. I may not always agree, but it’s nice to hear the other side. I’ve been reading your stuff since you were on Weddingbee.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:50 pm
I check in nearly every day! Although we have some very different outlooks (and I still avoid your Sunday posts!) on many different issues, I love your personality and what is clearly a good and honest heart
I also love how often you post and how varied your posting is.
-Ashley
February 26th, 2010 on 2:51 pm
I check in every day, and also peek at Jenna Cole too! I come back because I think we would be friends in real life! I think it is interesting and fun to learn about your faith and I am so excited about baby! Keep writing!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:53 pm
I check in every Monday through Friday, but I usually catch the weekend posts on Monday. I come back because I’m interested in what you have to say. I like to hear your opinions on everything, I really like your photography (hoping to catch a session with you sometime when you’re in UT) and I like that you stand your ground on decisions, even if your commenters don’t agree, and sometimes leave mean comments.
*Speaking of*…did you read the fiasco at CJane? I thought of you when I read that.
Also, I think I secretly wish I were as cool as you. and that people wanted to read my blog as much as they read and love yours.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:53 pm
I’ve got that wife on my google reader. I read a diverse range of blogs, but it always is that wife that I read first if it’s been updated. Jenna, you’ve got a really engaging and candid “voice” — you’re a really gifted writer! Even though you don’t know me, I consider you a friend! (we have a weird, one-sided friendship, but hey!)
February 26th, 2010 on 2:54 pm
I read your posts as soon as I see them in my google reader. As I am online nearly 24/7, that means more or less directly
I check back for comments on posts which interest me maybe 2 days later if I did not leave a comment myself, otherwise I am notified via e-mail. Um…. how do I have the time for all that?
February 26th, 2010 on 2:56 pm
I read most every day, except for Sundays. Occasionally I’ll see a Sunday post that catches my eye, but more often than not, I’d just prefer not to read those.
I keep reading because it’s interesting. We have very different points of view and ways of life, especially for having the same profession in the same geographic area. Even when I don’t agree with what you say, I always appreciate the new point of view.
The giveaways were super fun. Great week!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:56 pm
I read every day on my Google Reader! I’m glad that there is someone who is so willing to share our faith. Also, you make me think, and I really like your writing style!
February 26th, 2010 on 2:56 pm
I read you in gReader almost every day and sometimes come to your site to check out the comments too because they’re often just as interesting as your posts. You keep me coming back because your writing is brave and honest, and so I know what to talk about with you one day when we meet.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:56 pm
I check in every day and I also read Jenna Cole. I come back because I love seeing how religion affects people’s life.
February 26th, 2010 on 2:58 pm
I read your site almost every day - its in my google reader. I started following you on weddingbee, and continued following here. I think part of the draw is that your life is so very different from my own, in life goals & religion especially .
February 26th, 2010 on 3:00 pm
I get excited when TW comes up on my google reader. I was so inspired by you on the ‘bee, and I love how much I’ve been able to learn from you. Not just about religion, but pregnancy, cooking, life. I love coming to your corner of the web to learn how to have a more well-rounded life. So thank you for all you’ve taught me!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:01 pm
I check in every few days. I like to read about your baby experiences.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:03 pm
I read TW daily through my reader - but then I usually end up clicking on over to the blog to comment (you know how I love to comment). Why do I keep coming back… I started reading a year ago, and at the time you were writing about some things that we really disagree about (gay marriage). In the beginning I would come back to hear your perspective and also enjoy your always lively comments section. And I would often comment. Once I left a comment that I later feared may have been more snarky/judgmental than helpful to the discussion, and you replied in a honest and non-defensive way. And then I was hooked. I like That Wife.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:03 pm
You come up on my google reader so I check in every time there is a new post! I love reading your blog because you are an interesting person; we are close to the same age, and sometimes our views are polar opposites, but sometimes they are closely aligned. I appreciate your opinions and thoughtfulness in the way you express yourself.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:04 pm
I love reading blogs, especially ones I can relate with! I stop by That Wife Blog once a week, just to check out what is going on! What a good week to stop by though, great prizes! THANK YOU for sharing your favorites! Have a Happy Wife Day!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:06 pm
i check in a few times a week to see how your pregnancy is going and to link to Jenna Cole.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:06 pm
I’m another google reader. I check up on my reader 2-3 times a day so when you post I generally see it the same day. I comment more than I thought - which I realized on your last round of giveaways.
I started following your blog and you mine way back before you were even a Bee. Yet here I am still three months away from my wedding and you’ve been married a year + with a baby on the way! I love my “post wedding” bloggers that I’ve followed through the transition from Miss to Mrs and whatever comes next.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:07 pm
I check it about once a day during the week (or until you post, I know you do it about once a day). I keep coming back because you cover interesting topics and you are so sweet! Your site is very personable and it gives the feeling of “girl time” when I’m very far away from my own gal-pals.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:09 pm
I started reading That Wife as a result of LOVING you on WeddingBee. I stick around because I love your perspective: at once so similar and so different from my own. Yours is one of my favorite blogs to read daily, and I might get a little excited each time a see a bold (1) next to your name in my google reader.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:11 pm
I have your blog in my google reader, and I check it a few times a day. I hardly post on any blogs but do a lot of reading! I enjoy the various points of view I have in my feed and think your posts on your pregnancy are so informative and interesting.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:12 pm
I like this question.
I check daily (and I check your formspring site a ridiculous number of times hoping you will have responded to more!). I got hooked from WB and then you were doing your 365 days challenege and I liked having something new every day.
You can make me so mad because sometimes (okay, most of the time) we have completely different view points. But most of the time, I love peeking into this slice of your life and getting to “know” you at least a little bit through your words. I really enjoy your writing style and I like following your life!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:13 pm
I absolutely love these bowls!!! She had one that said Amor Vincit Omnia, Love Conquers All. Love it.
I have That Wife on my google reader, checking in daily. Along with following you on Twitter and occasionally on Formspring. Borderline stalker or too much time on my hands? You can decide. lol. I really enjoy your writing and honesty. While not always agreeing with you, I respect your opinion and courage to put it out there. Keep it up!!!!!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:21 pm
Saw you first on Weddingbee then followed over to the blog. I check pretty much every day to see if there is an update. Why? You’re interesting. You talk about varied topics not just the same old thing - and I particularly enjoy your photography tutorials.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:22 pm
I read everyday and I love how varied your blogs’ offerings are!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:23 pm
I check in whenever you pop up on my google reader… and I check my google reader at least every hour
I became a regular reader after your pregnancy announcement. I’m in that stage of life too and it’s so fun to follow along with others. Especially ones that have similar views as me
Unfortunately the hubby insists even if I don’t need a doctor HE’S going to need one - so I’ll be delivering as natural as possible at the hospital
Come on Lucky #13! I love to get a special bowl for baby’s dresser!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:23 pm
I pop in 2-3 times a week. I read because I love your “voice.” I think you have a real talent for writing and I enjoy your diversity of topics. Photography is what originally drew me, but I love hearing about your non-horror-story pregnancy, adventures in the woods, even the posts on LDS - which I’ve had little exposure to but appreciate having a wider understanding.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:24 pm
I read it through Google Reader, which I check (too) many times a day, but I came here from Weddingbee and keep coming back because I like the way you write and your pictures, and I love hearing about your pregnancy too! I also like learning more about your faith.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:26 pm
I read you via google reader whenever you update. I admire your honesty and I think I started reading back in the weddingbee days when I was planning my own wedding.
I’m also planning a home birth, so it’s been fun to read about yur decision-making process and experiences. There are so few of us making this choice, but it’s reassuring to read about. I’m “due” in 6 days…so any day now!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:27 pm
I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I usually pop by a few times a day.
I really enjoy your writing style and the range of topics you cover, but I’m also fascinated by the interesting discussions and insights in the comments.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:28 pm
It depends on when the next election is… seriously… but in non-campaign time - daily to a couple times a week. And I come back because I love you. It’s nice to stay up with old friends.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:28 pm
I read That Wife daily! I come for the pretty pics and for your awesome “voice,” dear friend.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:31 pm
I don’t need the gift certificate, so please don’t count me for the giveaway (I’d hate to win something other people would want more than me), but I wanted to answer the question anyway!
I usually come here at least twice a day (more to see if there’s a new post - I’m not a big Google reader person). I especially like reading your pregnancy/birth posts and your Sunday posts (I’m not LDS, but I’m a theology junkie, and I love hearing what people have to say about Christianity).
February 26th, 2010 on 3:33 pm
okay, this is a little embarrassing, but whatever, it’s for a paloma’s nest gift certificate!
I think I probably check my google reader about 20 times a day, and your blog has it’s very own section titled important people opinions. There are only three other blogs in that folder, and many no longer post. So, I check it 20 times a day for new material that I can eat up and digest. I find that it helps me balance myself in a very hospital-only birth type of community. I may not choose the exact same birth options that you do, Jenna, but I like to think that after reading your blog, I’m well educated enough to make those decisions. So thank you for that, for making me a better mommy-to-be!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:35 pm
I actually check in 2 or 3 times a day…Gah…I do have a life, I promise! I keep reading because you are gritty. That is southern speak for you say what you think and don’t let others get you down. I also think you are intelligent- I like that you research your home birth information. I don’t necessarily agree with all of your opinions, health care, etc. BUT I enjoy a respectful, insightful and informed disagreement any day. One can always learn!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:38 pm
I have you in my Google Reader. I don’t comment all the time, but I read everything you write. I found you because we’re both bees, and I still read because I like your writing style and am interested in your life (that sounds stalker-y, wow!).
February 26th, 2010 on 3:40 pm
I read everyday and I keep coming back because I love how you are true to yourself and your beliefs no matter how many negative feedback you get.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:41 pm
I’ve got That Wife on my google reader, so I check in whenever you have a new post. I keep coming back because the posts are generally something I have an opinion (one way or the other) on and I’m interested to read your thoughts.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:45 pm
I read/check in daily.
I keep coming back because I admire your marriage, your honesty, your ability to say what you think/feel even when you know negative feedback will result.
Plus I’m so thrilled for you about That One and I can’t wait to cyber meet him/her!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:48 pm
i come daily! your on my short list of blogs that i regularly read. i love your blog because even though we definitely have different beliefs, you present yours in a well informed and honest way. i love to learn about other people and really value a person who is willing to put themselves out there but in a way that is thoughtful and not ignorant. i really like how informed you are about what you do in life too, it makes me think twice before just doing something - i thought of you while buying vitamins recently haha which is random but because you have made me think about what i put in my body. i also really like hearing your ideas on marriage and finances because even though, again, i sometimes disagree, i am able to respect your opinion and input because of how you approach it. keep on truckin, forget those people who are negative!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:50 pm
You’re on my google reader, so I’ll check in whenever I see a new post come up, or whenever there’s a comment thread that I’m particularly interested in. So as often as you post, I guess!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:52 pm
I pretty much check everyday. I am a blog stalker that started reading your stuff on WeddingBee. I keep coming back because I enjoy your posts. I don’t always agree, but I enjoy reading someone elses point of view.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:52 pm
I probably read a couple of times a week! I am thoroughly enjoying reading and learning more about you!
I come back because you are interesting!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:53 pm
Google Reader keeps me updated and I keep reading because I like how your blog entries are realtive to things I’m interested in or things going on in my life!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:55 pm
I read your blog pretty much every day! I subscribe in Google Reader and even when I’m too busy to read everything I want, I’ll admit that yours is one of the first ones I go to… I come back because I like your writing style and I like that you’re very honest with what you write!
February 26th, 2010 on 3:55 pm
I visit once a day. I keep coming back because I find people with different views than my own interesting.
February 26th, 2010 on 3:56 pm
I’m addicted to my reader, so I get every post pretty much as soon as it goes live. I love that you’re a fledgling artist like myself, and it’s almost like having a buddy to navigate all this self-employed business!
February 26th, 2010 on 4:09 pm
Um…I check everyday. Except for a time there when Kyle was born, I was getting mastitis every weekend, and was generally out of commission, other than that…I check every single day.
I keep coming back to see your beautiful photographs, the Sunday posts, and now to see the new little one soon!
February 26th, 2010 on 4:09 pm
You’re in my Google reader, so I read pretty much every post. I followed you on Weddingbee and then started following you here maybe a couple of months ago. I think I keep coming back because I enjoy the variety of topics that interest me, the regularity of posts, and your writing voice. Keep up the good work!
February 26th, 2010 on 4:10 pm
You’re on my google reader, which I read maybe 10 times a day. You’re a wonderful writer, with interesting points of view and firm beliefs but still an open mind - and that is a rare combination.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:12 pm
Ditto on the unique voice. I love the range and varitey of your posts.. always something new and interesting to read. I check it daily for updates.
(And, your photography is beautiful!)
February 26th, 2010 on 4:20 pm
I read through Google Reader, and I generally check in to see if there are any new posts throughout the day. I keep coming back because 1) You’re shooting my sister’s wedding and I’ve got to keep tabs on you
and 2) I’m fascinated by your life and the way you process the world around you. And I find your writing style engaging!
February 26th, 2010 on 4:20 pm
I have read since weddingbee! I am always impatient to wait and see if “that wife” is going to pop up in my google reader. I probably check the site itself once a week or so unless I want to see comments.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:20 pm
I read you every time you post. I have you in my blogger reader list.
I keep on reading because I am a stalker. JK. I find your point of view on life interesting, including religion and pregnancy topics. Plus I followed you on Weddingbee and just felt this was the way to go after that.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:22 pm
Since we got to know you better from working with you, I have been reading a couple of times a week. Now I love to read it because I love to hear how things are going for you (especially the baby)
February 26th, 2010 on 4:25 pm
I have read since weddingbee and then found that wife. I always love seeing what you’re going to write about and check my google reader impatiently! I probably visit the site itself about once a week unless I want to comment or read the comments! Love That Wife!
February 26th, 2010 on 4:30 pm
I read via Google Reader! I’ve loved reading about your perspective on everything from planning an LDS wedding to your birth preparations. It is very different from my life, but I love hearing about other “ways of life.” And I love that you stand by your opinions and beliefs even when challenged!
February 26th, 2010 on 4:30 pm
everyday. I started following you when you were on weddingbee. I love following your blog because you write about what’s really going on in your life. Being a late 20something, I am married, contemplating children and feel like I have learned a lot from reading you talk about what you have been through. I have definitely learned a fair share about home births thanks to you and find the whole subject very ineresting.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:35 pm
I stop in at least once a day. I love how many different topics you cover and how you stretch my thinking. I’ve especially enjoyed hearing about your journey through pregnancy- we’re planning on starting to try this summer, and it’s great hearing such candid reflections on it all. Also, I’m in seminary to become an Episcopal priest, and I love reading about your faith and tradition. I don’t know too many LDS folk personally, and I always love learning more about other people’s faiths. Thanks for sharing!
February 26th, 2010 on 4:36 pm
I LOVE paloma’s nest! I love her work and she’s actually in the Austin area (where I live). I have always wanted to get one to hold my rings
I come to That Wife everyday (everytime you post really) - I have you on my google reader. I love your posts about photography as I’m a photographer myself.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:37 pm
I subscribe on Google Reader but I often check in outside of the Reader, because sometimes there’s a delay
I come back because its fun to hear updates from someone who feels like a friend at this point. You’re a bit younger than me, but your life is more “traditional” than mine and its fun to read about someone living such a different path.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:40 pm
Love this giveaway. I too read whenever a post pops up in my Google Reader. I started reading because you were an LDS bee! I keep reading because I like that you write about a variety of topics, and I like that you update frequently, but not too frequently.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:43 pm
This is definitely the best one yet! I wanted to order something from Paloma’s Nest for our wedding, too, but stopped myself.
I read every day, usually on my way to/from work on my iPhone, depending on when you post. I started reading your posts on Wedding Bee after you’d been married and I think the reason I followed you here is because I like your writing and your style. While we have quite differing views on some things, I appreciate your openness and the way you express yourself.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:45 pm
Everyday! I love your honesty.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:46 pm
I check in every day! I love your blog - you have a great voice and aren’t afraid to gloss over difficult discussions. Even though I don’t always agree with you, I feel like I learn something every time I read TW, and that’s awesome!
February 26th, 2010 on 4:50 pm
Daily. The combination of writing style and the range of issues keeps me addicted. I particularly appreciate your honesty and personal opinions.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:56 pm
I read everyday (although seldom comment). I keep telling myself I should figure out how this whole RSS feed all the kids are talking about works but I haven’t. The frequent (need not be daily) updates keep me checking (it’s more likely there is a new post then not). I also find you really, really fascinating as a person. I think most people wear a number of hats throughout their lives that change with age and experience, likewise people show different part of their personality in different roles but seldom do you get to see many sides of the same person (friends/family yes, but not so much random blogger on the internet). Yet you show off many of your hats. For example you’re very open - talk about topics some consider taboo, share personal details about your marriage, family, pregnancy etc yet you’re also very modest and silent on some parts of your life. I sometimes wonder if its this contrast that upsets people.
February 26th, 2010 on 4:58 pm
I check in weekly or so and read posts in large batches. I keep coming back because I’ve found that I really like reading blogs from a wide variety of women living a wide variety of lives. Your world is quite far from my Catholic, Massachusetts one, and I much appreciate the insights I get to gain from it! (Plus I love pretty pictures.)
February 26th, 2010 on 5:00 pm
I read daily via Google Reader. I started reading your stuff at Weddingbee because I was fascinated by your posts on LDS weddings, which is still part of why I read your blog, but I also just like that you state your opinions without apologizing. Even when I don’t agree with you, your posts make me think.
February 26th, 2010 on 5:07 pm
I put you in my Google Reader when I hired you to take photos for my wedding, and though I don’t always agree with you I like to hear what you have to say; I’m especially intrigued by your descriptions of Mormonism, having only known two Mormons before (I’m from a small town on the East Coast - it wasn’t very common!)
February 26th, 2010 on 5:11 pm
Almost daily. I don’t know why, really. I just like your writing style and thoughts. Not too many hold so steadfast to their beliefs these days, and I find it refreshing. Even when I disagree with you ;o)
February 26th, 2010 on 5:13 pm
I check That Wife at least once a day, usually 2 or 3 times. I get really bored at work when it’s slow, and I check your blog very regularly, as well as OMGMom, DesignMom, and Design*Sponge. the other ones I check regularly are The Pioneer Woman, Silver Pencils, Soule Mama, Geek in Heels, and my family’s blogs.
I pretend I know all of you. I just like hearing about your lives. It’s like constant human-interest stories, which I just love. And I think you’re both argumentative and opinionated and at times naive, as well as kind and passionate and idealistic. And that’s an interesting blend, which is why I come back.
February 26th, 2010 on 5:17 pm
I check in almost every day. If I open my google reader and you’ve posted something, I read it first, or at least top 3. I really respect you for your beliefs and frankness. There is substance in your posts that I enjoy a lot and hope to have in my own blogs as I grow as a writer.
February 26th, 2010 on 5:26 pm
I love the pictures and the honesty. I love how you aren’t afraid to post things that may be seen as controversial.
February 26th, 2010 on 5:26 pm
I read every time I see a new post in my Google Reader. I have you categorized in “favorite bloggers” which is the same folder that Pioneer Woman, my favorite photographers, and NieNie sits.
February 26th, 2010 on 5:30 pm
I realized I didn’t say how often… almost every single day.
February 26th, 2010 on 5:31 pm
Every freakin’ day since June. We share a lot of the same interests/beliefs, so it’s extra interesting.
February 26th, 2010 on 5:42 pm
I have your blog in my google reader, which i read every single day. I love reading your blog because you have such an approachable writing style and because you write about so many different topics!
February 26th, 2010 on 5:46 pm
I believe you wrote a post a while back about Google Reader, which I have to thank you for, since it has changed my blog-reading life! That said, I check in daily, so whenever there’s a new post, I read it. I got “introduced” to you by reading Weddingbee, and thought we had some similar interests/opinions on some things, so I got hooked. We’re at a similar point in our lives, and we’re TTC, so I love hearing about pregnancy/birth stuff too!
February 26th, 2010 on 5:49 pm
You’re in the reader- so if you post several times a day, I visit several times a day (although weekends are spottier for me). I read because I’ve never met anyone who was LDS (aside from the guys who come to the door occassionally) and because you post regularly.
February 26th, 2010 on 5:52 pm
I read your blog every other day or so to see your latest adventure! I have followed you since your weddingbee days and have always found your perspective interesting.
February 26th, 2010 on 5:54 pm
Heh, maybe I should check out this Google Reader thing. I check TW every day. I enjoy the variety of subjects you post about, your musings on newlywed life, recipes and, of course, the stuff you share about being LDS. I only casually know any Mormons and really didn’t know much about the religion until I read about your wedding on WeddingBee.

P.S. I just wanted to answer the question; I absolutely love Paloma’s Nest stuff, but I don’t “need” anything right now and there’s probably someone else who wants the prize more than me.
Also, it is really nice of you to share your Tulle winnings with your readers. I was one of the people who said you should just keep the cash! You have a baby on the way and don’t make $ off this blog; I saw the Tulle winnings as a way for you to get something from us for once!
February 26th, 2010 on 5:54 pm
Hey Jenna! You’re on my Google Reader, which I check three or four times a day!
I keep coming back because I really like your style and I think that although we are very different we see a lot of things eye to eye. Keep it coming girl, you rock!
February 26th, 2010 on 5:55 pm
I should add that I, too, first read you on Weddingbee. Love that hive!
February 26th, 2010 on 6:04 pm
I check in about every 2 days. I really like how personal you’ve been about your life and especially your pregnancy. You’ve definitely got a “blog personality” and I’ve stalked you for a while.
February 26th, 2010 on 6:09 pm
I check in almost daily. I love reading what you have to say and your photographs are awesome. There’s always some nugget of info that I take away from each post.
February 26th, 2010 on 6:15 pm
I have you on my google reader and so I check in every time you make a new post. I like to read your blog not only to keep up on an old friend, but also to hear how others are dealing with life and making the tough choices that change it.
February 26th, 2010 on 6:16 pm
You’re in my reader, so I see you everyday. It was sooooo good to see you in real life today!! So good. Hopefully one day we will live close;)
February 26th, 2010 on 6:21 pm
I subscribe through Google Reader. I used to read Wedding Bee and particularly paid attention to you because I’m also LDS. A few months ago I thought of you and wondered how you were doing after the wedding (random, I know) so I found your blog. I love the photography.
February 26th, 2010 on 6:22 pm
I check in a couple times a week….you have interesting posts and I enjoy reading all of the discussions that come out of the topics you bring up. I also admire that you’re willing to delve into some pretty serious stuff that is controversial-that takes a lot o’ courage.
This is my favorite giveaway you’ve done by far…..I want one of these bowls oh so badly for my engagement (and soon-to-be-wedding) ring(s)!!
February 26th, 2010 on 6:22 pm
i read it as soon as there is a new one in my google reader. i like your honesty and your candidness. i also like that you post frequently, on a variety of topics. it keeps it interesting.
February 26th, 2010 on 6:27 pm
I just followed you over from WB and check in every other day or so to see how things are. I really feel that if I miss too many days I am really missing out on something good. Also, I love to look at your photo blog!
February 26th, 2010 on 6:27 pm
I check in every day because you’re one of my best friends!
February 26th, 2010 on 6:28 pm
I visit That Wife about 3 times a week. I come back for all of your serious posts and definitely avoid the Sunday ones.
February 26th, 2010 on 6:37 pm
haha…guess there is where I admit to being a total stalker. I check at least once a day if not more! I come back because I am just simply interested in “your story”.
February 26th, 2010 on 6:37 pm
I check in every day to read your blog
And, I keep coming back because you’re so open, candid, honest, and have a lovely writing style. Plus I really like photography so I’ve really enjoyed following your journey as a photographer
February 26th, 2010 on 6:38 pm
I read you every time you pop up on my Google Reader because I heart you!
February 26th, 2010 on 6:39 pm
I got to know you over on wedding bee since you were a LDS bride like me and followed you over here and I read you once a day/every day when i get home and alwasy enjoy what your posting that day - I tell my DH about you and say your one of my friends..he actually gets it
February 26th, 2010 on 6:51 pm
I check every day.
I keep coming back for the same reasons I check my other favorites; frequent posts, someone my age going through pregnancy and using a midwife like myself, learning from you, great photos etc.
February 26th, 2010 on 6:53 pm
Every day in my Google reader…I think you have a unique voice and I love reading about your everyday adventures.
February 26th, 2010 on 6:54 pm
I read probably once a week but skip on Sundays. I like the photography tips
February 26th, 2010 on 6:56 pm
I check you daily…because I heart you
February 26th, 2010 on 7:01 pm
Since I have your blog set in my Google Reader I get to see your posts everyday!
February 26th, 2010 on 7:10 pm
I read everyday - you’re on my blog reader but I check in on the website from work and to see the photo updates on Jenna Cole. Followed you over from Weddingbee - not sure why ’cause we’re nothing alike - but you’re fun and easy to read!
February 26th, 2010 on 7:12 pm
I check the blog every day or two days. I come back because its interesting! We have two different backgrounds and evey day I learn something new about your life. its like being a fly on the wall in your life!
February 26th, 2010 on 7:15 pm
I followed you over from weddingbee, and now I check your blog pretty much everyday. Your blog just keeps bringing me back. I think it’s because of the way you write, and how you always seem to write about interesting and sometimes controversial topics. At times I don’t agree but I still find it so interesting to read your posts and all the comments. I also love looking at your beautiful photography.
February 26th, 2010 on 7:37 pm
I come to “That Wife” about 3-4 times per week. I find Mormon blogs fascinating (don’t quite know why… I am not religious) and am also pregnant (due in a couple weeks) so I’ve enjoyed reading another person’s take on pregnancy!
February 26th, 2010 on 7:49 pm
I read and check every day. I actually followed you from wedding bee. I really like your writing style and find your posts thought-provoking and interesting. Although I don’t always agree with you I keep coming back for more!
February 26th, 2010 on 7:53 pm
I’ve been reading since WeddingBee and maybe even before when I was stalking any and every engaged girl planning a wedding! I follow your posts in bloglines and click over to comment or if I want to see your pictures better (not that I can’t see them in the reader, just like viewing them on your blog sometimes). I like your writing style and your dedication to blog consistently about good topics. I don’t agree with your religious beliefs but I respect your commitment and values. Thanks!
February 26th, 2010 on 8:05 pm
I came to your site right after your wedding, and sat down one night and read through all of your posts (wow that was a lot of them!) and have been coming back ever since. I check in daily on my RSS reader and enjoy reading about your adventures with marriage, the wedding, and now “that one”.
February 26th, 2010 on 8:11 pm
I read on my google reader, so I’m here whenever you write a new post. I come back because I love your ‘voice’
February 26th, 2010 on 8:29 pm
i read every time there’s a new post on my google reader to read!
so, i pretty much check my reader every day or so.
i keep coming back because i like your point of view. lately, i’ve liked reading about home births - we are a long way from kids but i’m already debating whether i want a home birth. i’m thinking i do - i want freedom to do what i want!!
February 26th, 2010 on 8:36 pm
I am a daily reader, or at least whenever your blog shows up on my google reader! I always get excited when you have a new blog up
February 26th, 2010 on 8:44 pm
I have that wife on my google reader and enjoy reading your post so much. You are such a talented writer, i share most of your beliefs and enjoy the pregnancy posts.
February 26th, 2010 on 8:51 pm
A few times a week… I found you through Weddingbee and followed you over!
February 26th, 2010 on 9:00 pm
You’re at the top of my Google Reader, so every day! I like reading about your perspective on so many things…and the fact that you have strong opinions on some issues keeps things interesting around here!
February 26th, 2010 on 9:13 pm
I check at least once a day! I come back because you’re honest, a great writer and super cute. I love your photography and hearing about you starting your own business. Hearing about your relationship, your pregnancy, everything!
February 26th, 2010 on 9:16 pm
It’s in my google reader, so I check every day
I like the fact that you are so honest and principled, and I love to hear about your relationship with your husband- it seems so strong- and it inspires me to do what I can to make my relationship more like that.
February 26th, 2010 on 9:25 pm
Oh! I visit daily! You are on my Google Reader but sometimes I come directly first, and then I read you again together with the other blogs at the reader : )
I found you trough wedding bee and eve though I am beyond that stage now I love to read your blog specially because you are very committed in being a good wife and (soon) mother. I also like the theology and nutrition related posts, oh! and I love photography!
February 26th, 2010 on 9:31 pm
Every single day, as I check google reader multiple times a day. As for coming back? I think a big part is that you make me think. I’m LDS too, and you address LDS topics so well, in ways I don’t think I could. I even like when your posts get “controversial” (usually for things I wouldn’t have suspected causing that kind of stir), because you really stand up for your opinion, regardless of how mercilessly some people tear you down. You have courage, as a woman, a Mormon and a blogger.
February 26th, 2010 on 9:33 pm
I check in every day because even though I don’t always agree with what you say, I love your conviction and strong personality!
February 26th, 2010 on 9:40 pm
Wow, this is an appropriate giveaway, as I’m about to order our ring bowl! Which I never would have known about if it wasn’t for That Bride, which introduced me to my base of wedding blogs.
..i feel connected to you. I love learning about different faiths, and you’ve taught me so much, and I have always been passionate about birth choices, but haven’t needed to research it much yet. now i’ll just go back through your archives when my time comes!
I check in every day or so, unless I’m on a computer fast. I like reading because after all this time - such a long….year?
February 26th, 2010 on 10:00 pm
Every time you have a new post that pops up on my google reader.
Why do I keep coming back? Because you always have a vast array of interesting topics from great photography tutorials, what you’re learning about the food you eat or fun wedding stuff.
I like that you’re not afraid to set your sights on something and go after it full speed! There’s a lot to be admire there.
February 26th, 2010 on 10:05 pm
Often daily, but then sometimes I’ll go a while and then read back through to “catch up.” Why… because I am hooked.
February 26th, 2010 on 10:10 pm
I check in pretty much every day! I followed from WB and am hooked!
February 26th, 2010 on 10:16 pm
I subscribe via Google Reader! So whenever you update…and I check in with Jenna Cole recently. I keep coming back because…we are so different and yet so similar and I find it fascinating.
February 26th, 2010 on 10:33 pm
I read daily, and usually check back later in the day and read comments that others have left, even though I never really comment myself.
I started following you as Miss Avo. I feel like I have a lot in common with you even though I don’t share a lot of the same views as you, if that makes any sense. I am enjoying your pregnancy posts as I’m about a month behind you in my pregnancy.
February 26th, 2010 on 10:37 pm
I check every day (or at least every day you post) since it comes to my google reader, and I’m quite the blog addict. It’s exceptionally rare that I go a whole day without clearing out my reader or at least clicking through to the interesting ones (which includes yours, m’dear).
As for why I read, there are a few reasons. I got hooked in the WB days, predominately because you were in the Dallas area. I enjoy your writing style and love your photography (obviously). Also, I’ve always had a lot of LDS friends but have never been brave enough to ask meaningful questions about their religion. While it’s certainly not a faith in alignment with my own beliefs, it’s fascinating and I enjoy learning about it from your viewpoint. Also, I totally want to be your friend, so reading your blog makes me feel like I am.
February 26th, 2010 on 10:40 pm
I come back to see lovely pictures and read intersting posts . Somethimes I come back multiple times a day . I have followed you from the wedding bee days , so its kinda more like a habbit now
February 26th, 2010 on 10:51 pm
I have your blog on Google Reader, b/c I first encountered your posts on Weddingbee and I followed you.
I like that you’re not afraid to voice your opinions and that you’re such a dedicated blogger. Keep it comin’!
February 26th, 2010 on 11:03 pm
I read you everyday because of your honesty and anticipation of some cute baby photos!
February 26th, 2010 on 11:10 pm
It’s one of the only websites that I check every day - well, Monday - Friday. I don’t really do any computer stuff on the weekends! I just like you, so that’s probably why I like your blog
February 26th, 2010 on 11:12 pm
I’m a new reader (via weddingbee), but I check the site a few times a week. I’m half Polish and like to read about the customs and traditions you’re experiencing. OK, and the baby news is fun to track too!
February 26th, 2010 on 11:55 pm
I subscribe to your RSS feed and I check that every day, so pretty much I read you every day
I keep coming back because of the diversity: babies, cooking, photography, religion, marriage, etc. I started reading you at That Bride when I was planning my own wedding and followed you to That Wife. I like your open, honest style and that you’re not afraid of giving your opinion. I also REALLY enjoy the posts about photography as I am a budding photographer myself
February 27th, 2010 on 1:09 am
I read you through google reader, which I check a couple times a day..
And I’ve been reading you since weddingbee, and I like your writing style, love your photography, and have been enjoying hearing about your pregnancy!
February 27th, 2010 on 2:15 am
I’m too late for the giveaway by about 15 minutes (boo for me, lol) but I just wanted to let you know that I read pretty much everyday and I keep coming back because you’re so awesome. You were always one of my Bee crushes and reading your blog has been awesome because you’ve taught me so much about birth, photography, your religion, and so many other things.
February 27th, 2010 on 7:00 am
I recently switched jobs to one that doesn’t allow me to be online during the day and I realized how much I love being able to check your blog throughout the day to get the excitement when a new post goes up. I’ve been reading since WeddingBee and keep coming back because of your honesty.
