A Good Saturday Filled With Bluebonnets
Oh hello, I cannot stay away. I realize no one is surprised.
Today was a good day. A really, really good day. I don’t think I broke down in tears even one time, or if I did it was in the morning and now it’s nighttime and we figured some things out and made plans and I’m feeling much more optimistic about things, particularly breastfeeding. There are several e-friends I have who all had babies fairly recently as well and they’ve been lifesavers for me, gchatting my fears and frustrations back down to a manageable level and helping me see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I think I’m feeling so good because I got the chance to take some pictures today. I hope to get the chance to edit some more, but this will have to tide you over for now…
Oh, Jenna, he is so cute! This photo makes my ovaries ache!
1So precious! He’s beautiful Jenna!
2Hugs to you Jenna. Know that I’m praying for you! He is just so sweet!
3Wow Jenna, he’s getting cuter all the time!
4It’s a darling picture Jenna! You guys made a beautiful baby!!
5I totally see you in this picture!
6He is so adorable! Thanks for sharing!
7he is absolutely precious! i hope things keep getting better; i’m sure they will.
8Oh my! He is so beautiful! Good to hear that you are feeling optimistic about breastfeeding!
9Of course he’s beautiful… was there any doubt?
10Know that my ladies group at church is praying for you. Many of us have dealt with rough post-partum weeks, so we know specifically how to pray for rest and healing. Lots of love coming your way, sweetie, so expect the Lord to deliver!
Wonderful picture! My partner and I took pics in the bluebonnets today too, so nice they’re finally out after all the snow. I hope things keep going on an upswing, I’m sure getting to take pics helped
11I’m glad you aren’t staying completely away! I would miss your posts … although with this little one to occupy your time I couldn’t blame you for doing so! He is so precious!
12Ditto ditto ditto
He really is SO handsome.
Those Bluebonnets make me miss Texas and remind me of last year when we drove all over creation looking for a good field! It was so cold! Good times.
13Ohhhh….SOMEONE GIVE ME A BABY NOW!
14He is gorgeous Jenna!! Congrats again to you and TH!
15Cuteness! Big hugs to you
16T1 is just so sweet. I just want to cuddle him. Glad you got to get out, take some pics and are feeling more optimistic
17He is just too sweet. So glad you’re having a better day. xoxo
18TOO CUTE! I’m so happy to hear you’re all feeling a bit better.
19Oh, oh, OH! Beautiful!
20He is adorable!
21The bluebonnets look amazing with that blanket. What a sweet little boy you have.
22Jenna, he is a strikingly beautiful baby. Please don’t worry about how you’re feeling. The 3rd day of my daughter’s life I sat on my bed and looked at her as she lay there and all I could do was cry. I cried about how perfect she was and how all I could do was wreck her. Giving birth and having a baby is like having the universe rip open and show you what you didn’t know. That plus hormones. And your body is recovering from a hallucinatory experience, especially without an epidural, and you aren’t sleeping and your nipples hurt and you have a BABY!!!! aaaaack that is your responsibility. Relax. You’re the mom. You will figure it out and the process of you trying, making some mistakes, getting it right, making some mistakes, will be good for the baby. It’s a dialogue, not a sermon, mothering.

I can’t wait to feel this way! I want my universe ripped open! So beautifully written.
T1 is a good looking little boy! I guess it helps to have good looking parents.
AMAZING.
(Glad you’re feeling a little better.)
24Okay, I’m dying again over this picture. This kid is going to have the BEST portfolio of pictures over his life! Plus, he’s incredibly cute which makes those pictures all the more sweeter!
Please contact me if you have any questions or issues with this new baby stuff, especially nursing. I’ve been on all ends of it - from exclusive pumping to nursing to in between (nursing and bottles). I know how happy you are when it’s going well, but how extremely frustrating it can be when it’s not. The time for such extremes in experiences is NOT right after having a baby - - you’re already a little bit hormonal still and when there is the slightest problem with something as vital as the baby eating, it can really send you in a tailspin.
Keep going at, girl! Do whatever YOU need to do to reconcile your desires + baby + reality. That equation is different for almost everyone.
25So this is the 3rd or 4th comment I’ve made on this picture, but I’m going to do it again. I love him.
26He is beautiful - absolutley perfect! Congratulations to you and TH.
27How sweet. I think he looks like a combo of you and TH.
Did you have a name picked out for a girl?

They didn’t really have any names for a girl that they could agree on! If it had been a girl she would have remained nameless for at least a few days, maybe longer.

I feel like I should write a post and say “if Kelli Nicole replies to your comment pretend like it was me writing what she said”. Ha! She’s exactly right, we had no girl names and planned to call her Baby B until we figured it out.
I’m so glad you’re feeling a bit better. Been praying for you and T1 as the nursing stuff gets figured out. I have zero advice, of course, so my support has been more of the silent prayerful type the last week… I think there are many of us doing just that.
I hope it just keeps getting better!
29He’s so sweet! They change so fast, don’t they?! I know you posted pictures of you and TH when you were young, but have you put any up of when you were newborn? I’m interested in seeing who he looks like at that age!

I would if I had any, but I don’t know if there are any of TH, and all of mine are unscanned in Washington.
T1 is so cute! I’m always excited to see a new post from That Wife in my Google Reader!
31Oh my, those lips! What a gorgeous child!
32I really cannot get over what ” perfect” looking newborn you have. Are you sure you didn’t swap him with a 1 month old?? haha He’s just so adorable. My baby fever is like at a level 5million right now! lol
33btw…….am I right that he is wrapped in TH/TD (That Daddy! haha) shirt?

Haha, he’s actually wrapped in a light-weight swaddle blanket :). I think it was a shower gift, but I don’t remember now. The colors go perfectly with the bluebonnets!
congratulations! that is a gorgeous baby!
and as I walked around with my photographer on the grounds of beautiful botanical gardens in Northern Virginia. I think I was able to get some amazing shots, and when I thought about what would look good I realized I had learned ALOT about the kind of photography I liked by looking at your photos. you really inspired me. thank you!
35so, I wanted to say. I got married yesterday
Nursing is hard. Stay determined about it. It does get easier. and Postpartum is a nasty trick if you ask me. Baby is beautiful:)
36He is so lovely. Glad you’ve got good Mommy friends to make you feel better.
37That is an adorable photo.
38What’s weird I think is that we tend to believe that breastfeeding is so natural. But both mother and child have to learn and it’s a process. While I don’t have a child, I’ve read enough blogs to know that it can be difficult to get into the routine of it, there are issues for sure, but thankfully there are good lactation consultants out there and supporting friends.
Such a peaceful picture. I love the bluebonnets, that’s probably the only thing I miss from Texas.
Name wise, I guess you were meant to have a boy if you couldn’t figure out a girl’s name;)
39Next time to like cjane and vacuum the house for inspiration
I’m so glad that this was a good day. I can imagine it was such an encouragement to get out, and take a few photos. T1 is simply adorable.
40Still thinking and praying for you dear.
SO cute!!!
41He is beautiful!!! Congratulations on your wonderful blessing!
