There’s something babies seem to love about bath time. I think it’s the fact that they are naked (babies love being naked) and that their private parts are submerged in warm water, which just feels good, you know?

We ended up waiting until Day 10 before we gave him his first bath, if you can believe it. We just didn’t feel like he needed one before then. We used olive oil on his bum to help get the meconium off each time we changed his diaper. Kelli Nicole was there when we did it and she took some pictures for us while TH and I navigated the waters of figuring out how to dip our teeny little baby in a pool of water without drowning him.

One of my baby splurges was the Puj Tub, and I love it. It’s twice as expensive as most of the tubs you find at Babies “R” Us but I don’t regret buying it. I can set it up and fill it with one hand, while I’m holding him with the other, and I can scoop him out and drain and put it away with him wrapped in a towel on my chest as well. I hope we’ll be able to use it through 6 months and we plan on keeping it through the next few babies as well.

A little bathtime snack to keep him calm.

That Sister was here the week after Kelli and spoiled us with the Burts Bees Bundle of Joy Baby Basket. My favorite potion inside is the buttermilk lotion. I’d bathe him 3 times a day if I had the time so I could rub this lotion into his skin and breathe it in at each feeding and diaper change. T1 is spoiled to have such an aunt!

That Sister is a photographer as well, and took even more bath time photos! I usually try to edit down the number of photos I show but I think he looks so incredibly cute in this series.

His first faux-hawk.

I took him out and he was being so cute. This was the kind of mother-son moment you love to look back on.

Then, he went from being sweet P to mischievous P.

Covered in spit-up, bathing him for the second time in a row, I still love him to pieces.

And don’t worry, we aren’t waiting 10 days between each bath or anything. :)
