My First Mother’s Day
Somehow I was able to convince That Husband that celebrating Mother’s Day is not just an excuse for me to expect flowers from him. In fact I told him I don’t even want flowers. All I want is a full nights rest, no responsibilities in the kitchen, a nap if I want one, a handwritten note, and a few extra smiles from my son. I have a feeling he’s going to pull through beautifully.
That last one is up to T1 though I guess.
To my own mom,
I needed you there, holding my hand, in the final moments before I became a mother myself. I suspect I’ll always need you for some reason or another. And I know you’ll always be there.
I’m beginning to understand now, what you sacrificed for me throughout the years.

I think the best way to celebrate is really to be recognized for the work you do and have someone take over for the day. Enjoy.
