It’s been so long since my last Brain Dump, I have quite a collection of links sitting on my desktop waiting to be shared with you…
First Son
That Husband’s sister pointed out to us that if we merge Polish and English we can get T1’s name.
The word “pierwszy” in Polish means “first” and then when you add the word “son” in English you get… the name of T1 that we don’t type out on the blog. Cool, eh?
Labor/Birth Q&A
I finally had the time to answer all of your questions. A nice long post on post-partum recovery is coming soon!
Industrial Chic
Are you someone who frequents Michaels? Be on the lookout for the Industrial Chic line, as it was developed by my Aunt Linda and her business partner Susan Lenart Kazmer! Remember my wedding cake topper? Susan designed that and let us borrow it for our wedding day.
ALOT
This post at Hyperbole and a Half about the word alot isn’t just funny. It’s “laugh so hard you can’t breathe” funny.
The LDS Youth “Fireflies” video
NieNie linked to this. I would have loved to do something like this at a Fireside weekend or Girls Camp.
Kelli Nicole’s Post on Finding the Best Indoor Light
Kelli took the time to write a really fantastic post that explains how to find the best light for taking photos in your apartment or home, and how to avoid hot spots.
Kelli also recently posted about an organization called Sustain Haiti that one of her past grooms is organizing. Find out more about how you can help here.
Better Marriage Blanket
I could have used this a few times during my pregnancy.
Pornography Addiction Counseling
LDS Church leaders have been speaking out against the dangers of pornography for years. Previously the counsel was directed toward men almost exclusively, but recently leaders have began addressing women as well. I thought this article on the ways that one church is working to help women deal with their pornography addiction was really interesting.
Photography Parlour Interview Slots Available
Interested in being featured on The Photography Parlour blog? Rosie is looking for people who have recently photographed a first major assignment or second shooting, although she’d also be happy to chat with anyone who has recently gone full time to ask about how they made that decision etc. If you’re interested, email her: rosie {at} rosieparsons.com
Kazooisms Classic
I hope T1 is as Caroline of Kazooisms. Her latest quoteable:
A commercial for the George Foreman Grill was on television. It told us, straight up, how we should gift our mothers with a fantastic George Foreman Grill for Mother’s Day.
Caroline clucked.
“Whhaaat?” She was getting more annoyed by the second. “That is supposed to be a present? That is for cooking. That is not a present, it’s a responsibility.”
So true Caroline, I could not agree more. Take note That Husband, George Foreman Grills are NOT Mother’s Day gifts to get excited about.
Cognitive Bias Song
I think I could have aced Psychology if someone like this guy (I like those who think outside the box) was teaching it to me.
Next Restaurant
Chicago area peeps, have you heard about this concept restaurant opening up in the Fall? What do you think of the idea of charging a “ticket price” on a sliding scale for a meal?
Super Secret (for now) Photography Project
I have this idea for a project, but I need some models for it. If you’re in the Dallas area and would be interested in acting as a model for me, please email me, jenna {at} jennacole.com. For this project I need people available during the day willing to ride a bike, bake something in their kitchen, read a book, etc, while I take a picture of them doing that particular activity.
I realized it might be fun to start accepting submissions for Brain Dump material. Have something you think would be a good addition to a Saturday Brain Dump post? Email me and I might include it in a future post!

I don’t think I would like the ticket sliding scale thing. But I think I mentioned before - I’ve never been to a fancy restaurant, and I think the prices might make me, well… not hungry. lol. It is a pretty cool idea, but I guess I would need it hashed out a bit more, I read their description - and my interest is solely monetary-driven. Because money, no matter what financial situation we’re in, is almost always stressful to me. lol.

Wow, you have read my mind today with that Better Marriage Blanket. I want one of those SO bad… passing gas is apparently an art form in my husband’s family.

Love everything on here, but just wanted to put in my thoughts on the ticketed restaurant…
I think the slider tickets is amazing! We are always looking for a new adventure with food and always wanting to try new things, so the idea of paying a flat rate and getting a new meal everytime we went is intriguing to me… sounds fun and next time we drive through I may just have to find this place!

Oh goodness…I’ve got some reading to do on those links!
As for the connection of T1’s name - - that is way cool and even crazier that you didn’t even plan it. Crazy! The name was meant to be!
