Europe 2010 Favorite Photos
A few of my favorites from Europe. It will be awhile before I show you the rest because I have some Jenna Cole stuff to take care of, and I’ll be out of town from Friday-Monday for a wedding.
I took some engagement style photos of the bride and groom a few days before the wedding but I can only show you a few because the groom refused permission to let me post his face on the internet. Bummer, but I still like him anyway.
He ate his first food in Europe (not by my hand so it wasn’t anything like baby led weaning).
I think I need to run the color version of this one through Photoshop. Isn’t the light in this shot amazing though?
My SIL made a STUNNING bride. Not sure how I can “recap” the wedding the way I want if I can’t show the groom’s face but I’ll make do. I recorded lots of video too!
The beautiful mountain church they were married in.
TH and I snuck off with cousin K and he took some anniversary photos of us. I’m so happy to have well lit, well composed photos of the two of us. TH is wearing his wedding suit and I think he looks like a major hottie in it.
This trip?
Such a good idea.
My husband refuses to let me put his face on the internet too. Drives me nuts when I want to show off our day-after pictures!
Can’t wait to see more shots of your trip!
1Jenna, your hair looks GREAT dark and the anniversary picture of you is lovely. Just wanted to send you a positive note on this lovely Wednesday morning. Here’s to more adventures with your family!
2Great pictures. I have questions about T1 and baby food.
Why did you waver from your baby led weaning? Did you feel pressure from inlaws? Are you continuing him on solids now that you’re home?

I don’t know the answer to all your questions, but it sounds like (I could be wrong) the in-laws fed T1 while Jenna and TH were in the city.
Oh I love seeing the pictures!!! The anniversary one of you and TH - fabulous! And the one of TH and SIL so so adorable!
4Love those last 2 pics especially.
5Were you upset/disappointed that someone other than you fed T1 his first food? I’ve been looking forward to feeding my baby for months and would be WAY disappointed if it were someone else. Did it happen while you were there or away?

I was thinking that too. I am paranoid someone is going o try that with my son.

I mean this genuinely - but as a non-mother, I’m not sure I understand what the concern is. Are you worried about missing this as a “first” milestone in your child’s life? IE - would you be paranoid that someone else might be there for the first steps/haircut/word, etc?
Or is it that you are concerned about allergies or the long-term effects of eating the wrong food? Or have I totally missed the boat?

I’m just answering this question personally, this has nothing to do with Jenna or T1.
I think for most parents starting solids is one of those hot-button issues. Most people are pretty opinionated about when they’d like to start, what type of foods (purees or pieces of food like with baby-led weaning), and what the foods will be.
For me it’s about a few things. One, it is a big “first” that I would want to be involved in. Right now we only breastfeed and starting solids is going to be a big deal. Once you introduce anything besides breastmilk/formula there is no going back. The digestive system begins to change (just take a look in the difference in the poop, ewe:). There are many benefits of delaying solids so we have decided to wait until our son shows all the signs of being ready sometime AFTER 6 months. He’s almost 6 months right now and isn’t interested in food at all. He is however very interested in my water bottle and is always trying to grab it out of my hands haha:)
The second issue (for me)is what the food would be. We are very mindful of what we eat and once my son does start with food I would like it to be something that I choose. We personally avoid preservatives and additives in our diet so jarred baby food is out even if we were going to do purees.
Allergies are another issue. There are some foods that you should wait to introduce.
People always want to feed babies for some reason. My SIL (who has three kids of her own) tried to feed my son ice cream at 4 months. Besides the fact that he was way too young, and the sugar factor, dairy is very allergenic (the recommendation is to wait to introduce it till 12 months)and I had a dairy intolerance as a child so we for sure will need to delay any sort of lactose.
People used to start feeding babies rice cereal at 2 weeks, then for a long time the recommendation was to wait until 4 months, now after more research the recommendation is a minimum of 6 months.
To answer your other question “IE – would you be paranoid that someone else might be there for the first steps/haircut/word, etc?” I don’t really care about the first haircut, and I do hope I’m there to witness first steps and words, but food is still more important to me.
Some people might prioritize differently though:)

The photos are gorgeous!! And you and TH make such a striking couple.
7Jenna! I love the photos and your hair looks absolutely gorgeous!
8I love the anniversary picture of you and TH! You look gorgeous. I love the wedding details and I can’t wait to see more! It looks like you took the 35 and the 45 t/s, right? (I think I recall you saying you only took 2 lenses). Maybe you can just post a circle over your new bro-in-law’s face so we can see the pretty pictures :).
9I love that anniversary picture.
It says, “MINE!” the way you’re holding him, haha. He is quite dapper in that suit!
10Those pictures really give the feel of a vacation. Different place, good people, gorgeous autumn weather.
I hope we get to see wedding pictures. I know it won’t make it as pretty and it’s extra work, but could you blur his face maybe?
Also congratulations on maintaining your weight during the trip.
Oh and where did you get that pretty flower you have in your hair? (6th picture), it’s quite pretty.
11Can I just say I love your hair?! I especially love the first picture of you - very nice. And the one of you and TH is great too - both looking good and at a fun time on your trip!
12I love your hair color! It’s so rich looking!
13I’m so happy you guys had such a good time. I love vacations. A good vacation is like a re-start button! Love the pics!
14Jenna you look great in all of these pictures- I especially love the anniversary picture. Great pose, great background, great light, great subjects.
And that picture of T1 with all that orange on his sweet fair face really makes his blue eyes stand out. If only we adults could get away with playing up our features like that
15I, too, join the legions who really like your anniversary photo.
I also really like your SIL’s dress. She definitely is a very beautiful bride!
16First of all, I really like your dark hair.
Second of all, your sister-in-law is GORGEOUS!!
Third of all, I LOVE the shot of TH and his sister. It’s great.
It looks like such a great trip! and congrats on not gaining any weight on vacation!! woo hoo!
17I like how happy you two look in the anniversary shot, but I’m not super fond of the posing. You look teeny-weeny and almost like you’re hiding behind him. Or maybe that was the point? Whatever though, it’s just curiosity, not criticism.
T1 looks super cute with the food on his face. Are you going to experiment more with food now that you’re home or leave off for a while? I’ll warn you, babies on solid food = far more baths! And you’ll be glad you’re back in disposable diapers.
18Beautiful pictures! You look gorgeous! Especially in the first one
19Jenna! I love all of these pictures. What beautiful people you are. I also want to know where you got that gray sweater in the first picture!? I love it.
20Love the pictures. I think you look really pretty in them!
21Loving the pictures. Looks like such an amazing time, love your anniversary shots
22TSIL is adorable!! Just adorable. Her joy is palpable. I’m so glad you were there to share in it.
Can’t wait to see more touristy shots too. I’ve never known anyone who has been to Poland - looking forward to learning through you.
23I love your hair color such a great fall & winter color, it’s so rich! Can’t wait to see more pictures from your trip.
It’s fun to see TH & TSIL and how they look similar.
24I love all of the pictures! T1 is adorable, the food looks yummy. I love, love, love the church. I think my favorite has to be the one of TH and his sister. She’s so cute.
25Like many others, I wanted to say that I love your dark hair color! Can’t wait to see the rest of your pics!
26aww TH and his sis in the last pic…so cute!
27I’m curious how you like the kelly moore bag now that you’ve used it while traveling? I’m leaning towards getting the classic bag, but I do love the look of it’s much bigger sister the (new) juju bag…
28These are BEAUTIFUL photos!! I especially love the one of you and TH. So sweet!
29Is that a Kelly Moore bag I see????! You go girl! Can’t wait to get mine!
