Grandma and Grandpa in Chicago

Posted by Jenna, Under family

You’ve already seen some of these, but we had such a wonderful time with my parents in Chicago!

I accidentally introduced my dad to a woman who just might become his new stalker. She was amazed that someone organic could grow so many onions!

Grandma bought him this “lumberjack outfit”. I love it!

A little cross processing.

Kate and Laura, this is where I bought your jam! (They are Jenna Cole clients and I sent them a sweet treat with their wedding discs :) )

This is the picture my mom took, as it looked int he camera.

Some touch-ups in Lightroom.

And I decided to spice this one up in Photoshop a well. Happy Halloween to my little bandit!

My mom wants to blow this one up and frame it.

The morning that they left we took a few pictures in the garden at our apartment complex.

Mom and dad, it’s hard putting my life on hold (I heap a lot of extra stuff on my plate) but it’s worth it to have you here with us. Thanks for visiting and we hope to see you again soon!

  2. So do you think your dad loves T1? I can’t really tell. :)

You look especially fabulous in that first picture of you (looking at squash, I think?). I love the haircolor!

  3. That first picture of you is stunning-you look gorgeous!

I’d frame that picture of T1 and your dad too!

You guys are all so nice! I really appreciate comments like this, especially on days like today when I’m feeling a little bit blue about my body.

  9. Your family is so beautiful! And you look great!

(And you know, at least judging by the photos, I think you resemble your dad more, and your sister looks more like your mom :-) )

  10. I join the chorus of those saying you look great- that hair color looks better and better every time I see it! And T1 is so photogenic, lots of babies look like grumpy old men until they’re at least one :) He must have known he had the skills to be born into a family of photographers….

Aaaaaand now I’m singing songs from “Saturday’s Warrior” in my head, lol!

  13. I’m so behind on my comments - You look wonderful in these pictures! I can’t believe how much T1 has grown!!

Also, I was totally guessing that you were going to take him as your teddy bear for Halloween. I like your idea better.

Haha, that is funny though. Wouldnt it have been fun to do family costume and have u2 be a Teddy bear and TH be a pillow or something? I love family costumes.

  14. All the market pictures look really great. You could probably advertise for farmer’s markets that way :)
It’s reminding me that our farmer’s market is this afternoon. Yeah!
Oh and I totally understand your mom, that would be a great picture of your dad and your son to hang somewhere.

  15. Glad you had a great time. My mom comes down about every two weeks and my husband and I are like paint on the walls. It really is amazing to see grandparents with their grandchildren.

  17. With T1′s love of standing, it seems that he’ll be walking in no time! He already looks like he’s a pro! Thank you for sharing.

I was making his 6 month video last night and it shows he excited he gets whenever it is time to stand!

  18. Those pictures are absolutely adorable! I love how happy T1 looks.

    Jenna Reply:

We will both see you soon! t1 is very excited :)

  19. All the photos are great! What does it mean when you say “cross processed?”

    Jenna Reply:

It’s a term that applies to film and has been adapted for digital actions that achieve the same effect. It’s just a definition for a specific kind of “look” for photo edits

  20. Your parents are adorable :)

There is nothing cuter than your dad and T1. Just so precious!

I love all of these pictures!! What a great weekend with family (personally, my favorite thing in the world!) around the city. Oh, love your hair!

  22. ok.
    A) You are seriously gorgeous with that dark hair!
    B) T1′s little lion booties in the last couple pictures are AMAZINGLY adorable.
    C) this is off topic, but I was reading your formspring, and had a thought regarding solid food and babies sitting up on their own. I am NOT a parent, nor have I done extensive research on this, but my SIL started giving my nephew (who is now 9 months old) solids at like 5 months. She does give him purees because my BIL is PETRIFIED that he will choke and die. He didn’t start sitting up on his own until 8 months, and even then he was still shaky at it.

  23. You guys are such a sweet family! And that little striped hoodie is to die for! I love it!

    23
  24. I LOVE that photo of you with the squash - you look so lovely.

And all the photos are great of course - P is adorable (those EYES!!!) and you have a very nice looking family.

I love seeing dad pushing a stroller. Also his hair has lost nearly all color now!
