I’m trying to space these sponsor intro posts out in hope that you will take a moment to actually read them. Is it working?
Sheila is the woman behind Arkeeology, based in Southern California. Sheila describes herself as a “Jill of all trades” and it’s true, that’s exactly what she is! Somehow she juggles being a a freelance writer, a makeup artist, a photographer, and a single mother to a 3 year old autistic son. Sheila and her makeup/photography skills reminds me of one of my favorite photographers, Ksenija Savic, who is also someone who can make your face look pretty and then take pictures of it! Sheila is also the publisher of the Painted Ladies beauty blog, which has been a great source of inspiration for me in the past when it comes to things like the tightlinging technique for applying eyeliner or how to wash your brushes.
You can read the story of how Sheila decided to launch a photography business here. Sheila’s mission statement if you will:
My goal as a photographer is to realistically capture moments, to preserve the personalities behind every photo. There is nothing greater than the joy of knowing I’ve taken a beautiful photograph that my clients will cherish forever.
I think you can see those personalities shining through in her photos.
Ohhh, and I like this one too (even though I normally don’t get excited about photos that don’t have people in them). Aren’t the colors amazing?
Sheila has been a long time reader and I’m really happy she decided to advertise with me. If you do contact her, please let her know you found her through That Wife!

I’ve been sick going on my 3rd day and I spent a good chunk of time yesterday on the Painted Ladies blog- so awesome! I’ve never been good at applying “dramatic” or bright eye shadow without looking like a clown, so her 365 Eyeshadow project pretty much seemed miraculously perfect to me

Makeup artist + photographer seems like it’d be a perfect combination. Must check out her blog.
