You might be wondering “Did she sing the Will Smith song when she wrote that title?” Why yes I did.
Lately I’ve been doing a pretty sucky job at taking pictures of my kid. If I don’t change things up a bit, he’s only going to have 5 or 6 pictures of himself from the month of January! I try to only keep 10-20 each month anyway, but at this stage he’s doing so many darling things, only days away from standing on his own and walking, and it makes me sad to think that I won’t have pictures of those moments. Not to mention, I need to keep my camera on standby for the moment when those beautiful first steps really do happen!
My Fashionably Modest photo sessions have helped me improve in one area though, and that’s getting pictures of the two of us together! Another point for Operation Documenting Mothers and Babies.
TH was there to take these photos so T1 looked a little less stunned and I laughed at how excited he was to see dad taking his picture.
If you’re wondering, yes we do dress him. He always seems to be half naked when I’m doing my outfit pictures though. In part because I want to take my pictures before I get down and wrestle him down to get him dressed, which always leaves me feeling a little sweaty. This is a child that does not like to sit still.
On our way to church yesterday, with T1 wearing a sweater knit by his great-grandma and a pair of thrifted black pants. I guess it’s his own version of fashionably modest dressing!
I’m so glad we have these pictures together, and I’m going to keep doing this as I work on outfit posts. For those who are wondering, I can’t remember his exact stats but I know he is 95th percentile for head size, 75th percentile for height, and 50th percentile for weight. Tall and skinny like his daddy.
Now who did he inherent that big giant head from? (The forehead, according to my trolls, is all mine.)

Never mind the trolls. He has your blue eyes! Lovely pictures!

Lovely! It’s great that you will have so many nice pictures of you and T1 as a baby.
I can’t believe how big he has gotten. He’s already starting to look like a toddler. If you like the Will Smith song, you should check out the original song by Grover Washington, Jr. Will based his on that. Happy Monday!

I love that knit sweater, he looks warm and cozy and more like a little boy than a baby.
It’s good your taking the time to take pictures and T1 is definitly trying to charm his dad. Are you doing pictures of him and his dad/TH too?
PS: Love the outfit of the last picture on you. That blue really goes well with your eyes. Oh and are you wearing something in your hair on that last picture?

I would , but TH is never dressed! He is the kind that likes to strip down as soon as he gets home
And I’ll do a post about that outfit. I am wearing a flower headband, it’s from Target.

Adam does the same thing. He is in his “house clothers” in like two seconds. House clothes= PJ bottoms and a tshirt.
I like to stay in clothes. I feel more productive that way.

You will be so happy to have those pics of the 2 of you. I hate that I didn’t think to do the same when my girls were little!
T1 looks like a little man in the sweater/pants! Too precious! (And I think the pics in a diaper are cute! There’s only a short time you can get away with it, so why not?!)

Those are so incredibly darling. His hair is getting so long! Since TH is never dressed, you should try and get some pics of the two of them on a Sunday if you all get ready early enough

The pink bracelet really makes the picture. Well, that and the adorable little boy.

I love how his expression changes when TH takes the pictures.
When you tweeted the picture of that knitted sweater, I wondered if someone made it for him. How sweet!

You look absolutely lovely in the first two photos, particularly the 2nd photo! With your hair up in a bun like that you look professional and put-together! The other pics are great, but we rarely see you with your hair up like that, so I thought I would comment on it.

Bwahaha at the troll comment! Good for you for having a great sense of humor.
I am always struck in his pictures how TALL he is!
Btw, you inspired me to go thrifting…I didn’t buy anything, but the Genesis Benefit Store in Uptown is awesome. Loads of cute, name brand stuff-most priced at $8. And oh the shoes…
Check it out when you come back to Dallas-it’s where the Park Cities donates their stuff, if you need the motivation

Random, but just wanted to tell you not to worry about those trolls! T1 is so precious, especially his “big” head (my husband has a big head and I love looking at his baby pictures… he had a ginormous head for a little kid but it was so cute!)

I totally don’t get it with the forehead comment. I’m not just being nice, I really don’t see it…
I love your hair up in the first few photos! So chic!

The pictures are great. It’s good that you’re making sure you get pictures of the two of you together instead of figuring it out after the fact.
And you totally got the Will Smith song stuck in my head!!!

Love those pics…but what REALLY stuck with me on this post is keeping ONLY 10-20 pics a month!? Then, I realized that’s some 120-200 photos a year. Yikes, if I don’t pare down my own collection of baby photos in progress (a 3 month old) that could add up to a bajillion photos to sift through down the road. Better I do it than someone else.

I love these SO much! I’ve been doing a bunch of family history work lately and I think half the fun is finding old pictures of ancestors. It has made me realize just how valuable pictures like this are!!!
