Bluebonnets 2011

Posted by Jenna, Under Photography, Travel

I spent the weekend in Dallas and when I landed I was thrilled to see the bluebonnets on the side of the road. I didn’t realize I’d be seeing them again when I returned!

I don’t get very excited about taking pictures of flowers alone though. When I see a field of flowers, I want to put a person in it.

Hey look, a baby! How perfect for me (I had so much fun taking pictures of this little one and her family, who happen to be close friends of mine).

Before the baby arrived I tried to do a self portrait in the bluebonnets, which didn’t turn out so well.

Much better when I had help from a friend :)

I posted a teaser from my wedding, I hope you’ll click over and check it out (there’s a little video of the dancing!)

I did some googling and google imaging:) It looks like Bluebonnets are a type of lupine, and in Texas they call lupines bluebonnets.

Just if you were curious. :)

  9. I live in Portland. Would you consider doing a photography class this summer when you’re in the Pac. NW? I’d love to learn some camera basics and be brave enough to try something other than the AUTO setting.

    Yes, you’re looking great too.

I’m sad there was no church because it meant I didn’t get to see you!

That spot is behind the Home Depot on Macarthur (I think that exact spot is right behind that stupid place called The Dump or whatever)

  14. I clicked over to check out your wedding pictures from last weekend and guess what I discovered? We know the same people! Brian’s brother Clayton was my husband’s best man at our wedding. They were best friends as teenagers. It was so funny to see him in that video! What a random connection! How do you know them? Are you friends with the bride?

    Jenna Reply:

Yes, Candice (the bride) have known each other for a few years now. Her sister is actually married to my husband’s closest friend.

So crazy that you know them too!

I live in Texas and I too will miss the BB’s!!! AND the TEX MEX! It will be an opportunity for me to loose weight though ;) I am in Houston and just had my babies photos taken with the bonnets for the last time, they are almost gone for the year :(

We are moving at the end of the year to the Chicago area though! Hooray!

You’re moving from Texas to Chicago? That’s like my life story!

We probably have some things in common then! haha

I am from St. Louis (Belleville, IL) and moved to TX 7 years ago and now going back to Chicago or Springfield, IL permanently….I think….It’s crazy though because we are not even sure about that. Husbands job.

I am going to miss TX, but not Houston proper! Are you from Dallas? I LOVE DALLAS!!!!

You look fabulous; I agree with the commenter who said the pale blue cardigan is a wonderful color on you. And that bride? Holy amazing gorgeousness. I have one word for her dress: Delicious. I know you photographed her sister’s wedding (right?) and I think they were LDS. Is this bride LDS? (Just asking because her dress is sleeveless.)

    Sophia Reply:

I had the same question, I’m glad you asked! Her dress is gorgeous but the open back threw me off. I think I assumed they were both LDS as well, but maybe not?
