Summer Plans

Posted by Jenna, Under Uncategorized

I finally nailed down my Washington travel plans for the summer. I’m going to be leaving on the 6th of June, flying in to Salt Lake City and staying with my sister for about a week, and then driving up to central Washington to spend the next 7 weeks with my parents. That Husband will be joining us for part of that time, but I’m going to be keeping those exact dates to myself just in case some of you have an eye on our fabulous Ikea futon or something. Ha!*

After that we are home for an August of fun here in Chicago (TH won’t be working or going to school!), and then 20 days in Europe. This summer is a whirlwind for sure!

A few random photos from the other night, when I put T1′s pajamas on upside down. At first he didn’t mind, but that didn’t last long. :)

*Before my grandma has a heart attack, we live many floors up, with a doorman, and I’ve been pretty vague about which apartment is ours. If someone is going to go out of their way to do some thievery, I promise our place is not worth the risk.

  1. Did you put them on upside down just to mess with him? lol.

  2. I love the picture where he’s looking down at his belly. So cute!

  3. I guess T1 is not the only mischevious one in the family. You’re the example!!!
Lucky you to have so many fun plans this summer.

  4. It sounds like a great summer! We just pinned down our dates too and I’m excited to see friends and family. I think that’s going to be my favorite part of teaching- getting summers off to travel :)

Also, I basically made the same disclaimer on my blog. I know you’re not supposed to let people know when you’ll be gone, but we take our laptops/cameras with us, and as a result truly everything in our apartment is less than $200. And we have no TV/DVD/Tivo/video games at all. I think if someone broke into our house they’d be pretty disappointed, haha.

  5. Hooray for being in Washington! Hopefully, it will warm up by the time you get here and really be like Summer.

Ha my grandma would have a heart attack too! Sounds like a fun summer, especially the 20 days in Europe part! I decided I want to head over there this year and I’m trying to narrow down what places I actually want to go! Your pictures and travel advice are helping get me fairly excited :)

  10. My parents are always worried that our house will get robbed, but like most young married people, we have nothing to steal! haha. I know I’d be sad if all my things were burned in a fire, but those are things that have no monetary value to a robber, so they would be sorely disappointed.

  11. How exciting you will be in my neck of the woods for a week. I think this is only my second time commenting, but I am an avid That Wife reader. I was excited when you posted that you would be in SLC for a week. I hope the weather is better for you when you come than it is right now, and I hope you have a great time before heading up to Washington!

Will you be spending any time in Seattle? I might be able to convince my husband to do a duet shoot, if you’d be up for it!

My parents live about 3 hours away from downtown, but I’d definitely like to come visit at least once. I’ll blog about it if I do, but if there are any weekends in particular that work for you, email me and I’ll keep them in mind! I would love love love to do a Duet session in Seattle!

  13. Sounds like you have a fabulous summer planned. We have a few trips planned this year too. Still keeping our fingers crossed that most of them will pan out. We did get lucky though & I managed to find some cheap tickets to visit J’s parents. We’re going to surprise them. =)

  14. Yay for Washington!! If you head to the West Side, I’d love to meet up! T1 seems like he has quite the personality!

  15. Oh how I would love it if we could meet when you are in Europe!!

  16. It sounds like you have a wonderful summer ahead of you! Enjoy! I would love to spend 20 days in Europe. {sigh}

Do up have a plan for eating and exercising at your parents house? I’d hate for you to lose all the hard work you’ve done.

    Jenna Reply:

Eating? I’m not really sure what’s going to happen. I’ve made my feelings about food and diet clear to my parents, we’re going to work out a system that limits the foods I don’t want access to. It’s farming country so there are plenty of places to get produce, and my parents are interested in trying out humane meat (though I plan to eat mostly vegetarian).

Exercise should actually be even easier there! I can run on dirt/gravel, and my parents actually have a treadmill and an eliptical machine.

I’m more worried about diet than exercise, but I think volunteering to handle a lot of the cooking will help with that.
