I’m going to try to edit and schedule this from my iPad, so pardon any glaring mistakes.
For now, the days of largely thrifted outfits are over. Almost everything I bought before no longer fits, which is okay because I spent less than $150 on all of it and intended to use them as transition pieces while worked to lose weight.
The shirt is from Forever 21, purchased a few months before my wedding. The belt was thrifted this year, proof that accessories are the things to stock up on because they can stay with you! The skirt is from high school. The shoes were purchased for three dollars from the thrift store a block away from my house. They don’t fit well and they give me blisters but they are the only brown shoes I have so I make it worth. The gold hoops are a gift for a friend. Thanks dear friend!
Fashionably Modest posts from me might disappear for awhile, because I only have a tiny wardrobe that I brought to Washington. I might be able to shop in my mom’s closet, and I’m hoping to find a good little thrift store in the Columbia Basin (ha, anyone from that area is laughing right now).
If you have a Fashionably Modest submission send it my way, I would love to feature and link back to you. If you aren’t sure if it is modest according to me just send it over and if it doesn’t work I’ll let you know (but I haven’t turned down anyone yet!)

Look at you, back in high school clothes! I remember when cord skirts were popular. I wish I had saved mine - they are a great staple!

Once again…Love this outfit!
Haha. I haven’t been very good about looking, but I need to search for a good thrift store here in the Tri-cities. If I find a good one I’ll let you know. I’m hoping the Antique Mall across the street has something amazing.

You look GREAT! Love everything about the outfit but the blouse is very cute. Your hair looks fabulous, too!

If you wanna make the excursion I’d love to try thrifting with you in Spokane! The one shop I used to go to changed ownership and now caters strictly to the shapeless potato sack crowd. I’ve been relying on Ebay for my spring dresses because I’m too busy/scared to try and learn how to sift through the larger stores.

I have yet to find a good thrift store here in tri-cities… If you find on please pass it along! And I love the antique stores but have trouble finding good deals. Have you tried Becky’s at uptown? It’s my fave so far
going to check out walla walla stores today!

Such cute sandals and such a shame that they don’t fit right.
Are they too small? You should try stretching them out with ice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf5mJ7aR2t8

I’m so mad at myself! I didn’t watch this (awesome) video until now, and I just passed up the most amazing shoes at the thrift store in Oregon because they were just *barely* too small. The ice trick would have stretched them out quite nicely!
They are actually too narrow, I have really wide feet. It’s possible that the ice trick would stretch them out sufficiently though!

I think you’d look really cute in a streamlined pencil skirt. I’m sorry, I don’t particularly like this one on you. I think you’d look great in a skirt that sits a bit higher on your waist, and that is a couple inches shorter (just above the knee). I get that the point is to dress modestly, but I think it just comes off a bit sloppy? You’re such a gorgeous girl, you can do better!
