Did you miss the intro post? Read more about the June Challenge issued by my bishop here.
I made it through the first week and only missed one day, Saturday. I had been getting up early in the morning to be able to read and pray without a baby jumping all over me, but things were thrown off on Saturday when I got up at 5am for a photo shoot and then didn’t make time for my reading later in the day when the baby was napping. I am already appreciating how this challenge has forced me to see that I can make more time for the Lord.
I hope it’s been effective for those who decided to join me, and you know what? You can join in at any time! Pursuits like this are a lifelong endeavor anyhow.
I think it may have been Cristin who asked for me to note when I moved to blogging my Old Testament reading on my scripture site, and I made the move to Genesis today. I realize that publicly blogging your thoughts as you read your scriptures might not be everyone’s thing, but I would recommend giving something like this a try if you’re struggling with your reading like I was. I so frequently felt purposeless when I was reading, and now I’m much more deliberate and find myself actually pondering the things I’m reading.

I am so glad you shared this challenge with us! I’ve been meaning to spend more time on my prayer life, and this is giving me that extra bit of motivation to actually do something about it.
To help remind me, I cleared off a shelf in my dining room that was cluttered with nicknacks and set up a “prayer shelf”:

The top shelf holds Bibles, scripture commentaries, and various devotional literature. Rearranging those shelves is helping me to also rearrange my personal priorities, and every time I walk past them I’m reminded to pray. So far it’s working better than expected, but it’s only the first week… hopefully I can keep it up!
