Malouf Fine Linens (Giveaway!)
One reason I didn’t want to start advertising with BlogHer is that they limit the types of reviews/giveaways you can do. If I had gone with them, I wouldn’t be able to share this line of products with you with a review and giveaway, which would be such a shame!
First, a little bit about Malouf Fine Linens. I found out about the company through my friend Rebecca. Rebecca’s brother, Sam, owns the company with his wife Kacie. They’re working to provide Italian made Egyptian cotton linens at prices you might have to save up for, but are still attainable. Products they currently provide include fine linens, mattress protectors, bed frames (something I really want, our bed is still sitting on the floor!), and pillows.
Sam offered to send me a pillow to try out, and I chose a Dough Memory Foam, firm, with high loft. I was out of town when the package came and my mom opened it up and texted me to ask why I have pillows sitting in really beautiful packaging sitting on her doorstep. She wanted to keep it for herself, but I said no way!
I like a company that knows the way a product looks when you open it up can leave a lasting impression!
I called a friend of mine and asked her to be my model, and she gamely headed out to the field in front of our house and snuggled into my pillow for a few minutes.
Before this, I had never used anything other than hand-me-down pillows. I thought the contoured pillow from Costco I was sleeping on was as fancy as it gets! I always found myself sleeping on the highest side, wishing my neck didn’t feel strained. I tried doubling up the pillow, and over time became used to sleeping on my arm (often leading to pins and needles when I woke up to a dead arm in the morning). I also can never seem to find the cool side of the pillow in the middle of the night!
Now I wonder why I didn’t look into this earlier. It would take some time to save up for it (the pillow Sam sent me retails on his site for just over $100 [Editors note: Readers tipped me off to let me know that you can find these on Amazon, and I'm happy to see the reviews are great!]), but my pillow is something I use every single night and I didn’t realize what a difference it can make on overall quality of life. This Malouf pillow feels cooler (apparently it has greater air circulation), is so soft and fluffy that I often find myself reaching under the cover to rest my hand on it while I sleep (a la my friend Tawnee in the photo above), and when I lay down there is this wonderful resistance that makes my head feel like it’s floating. I feel good when I wake up in the morning and I no longer have to sleep with a dead arm under the pillow to keep my neck supported.
This pillow makes me feel good, and my friend Rebecca warned me of the consequence of trying it out… I’ll never be able to go back to my cheap Costco pillows again.
Sam not only sent one of these pillow for me to try, he’d like to send one to you as well. The best part? He said the winner can go ahead and choose the perfect pillow to fit their needs from the Malouf Fine Linens site. Amazing, right?
To enter, comment below and tell me where you got your current pillow.
If you’d like a second entry, like my new That Wife page on Facebook and comment on this thread telling me how you think I should use my fancy new Facebook page.

Malouf Fine Linens did not pay me to write this post, but they did send me two pillows of my choice free of charge in exchange for doing so. I warned them beforehand that I would write my honest opinion no matter what, and they agreed to send it anyway.
My pillow is from Target. I think it cost $5. I am very fancy.
My husband has this horrendous old pillow that doesn’t fit in a standard pillow case (I finally got a sham so I could jam it in there and not have the ugly part sticking out the side) and it has got to be at least 15 or 20 years old. But he will not let it go. Gross.

1I have two pillows right now. A cheapie from target and a more expensive one I bought from Bed Bath & Beyond with a coupon to try to help my uncomfortable pregnant self. but it’s not really working and a new (awesome) pillow would definitely be amazing!

2My pillows are from Home Goods … I think my husband and I got a two-pack for $10? They’re nice enough (we like firm pillows) but this pillow you’re raving about sounds amazing!

3I have a contoured pillow from Costco, it’s not bad but it sounds like it could be so much better - I’d love to replace it as you did!

4My pillows are from target. I kind of squash them all together around me to get comfortable at night! This is such a great giveaway!

5Hahaha Costco!

6I would love a nice new pillow! Mine is from Bed Bath and Beyond, nothing special. I’ve always spent more money on sheets than pillows.

7My husband and I use sobakawa pillows. Last time we bought them from amazon. I’ve used this kind of pillow for the last 5+ years, though lately I’ve taken to sleeping without any pillow. Maybe a new type of pillow would help this?

8My current pillow is from Kohls. It’s cheap, old and not comfy at all!

9I also think 2 of my one of my current pillows came from Target. Both used to be on the guest bed, now they’re on ours! The other one… I have no idea where it came from. But it’s perfect for supporting the bump.

10Yay!! I have such a terrible pillow from Target, I would love a new one. Thanks for the great giveaway!

11I got my current pillow from…. WALMART. It bites and I hate it. I would loooooooove a new one!!

12We registered for memory foam pillows when we got married. I was totally bummed when no one bought them, but I couldn’t blame them because they are expensive!
We used the gift cards and registry rewards to buy them, and I am SO glad we did. They have made such a difference. I used to have neck pain and lots of headaches. Those seem to have abated since we got the new pillows.
Now, though, I’m wondering how often one should change a memory foam pillow.

13I have the cheap Costco pillow that you mentioned! I am getting sleepy just reading how fantastic the Malouf Fine Linens pillow is!

14Uh, Costco probably…but it’s giving me a pain in the neck. Tried a feather one from IKEA and it was worse.

15Wal-Mart pillows, represent!!
No, really, don’t represent. They’re terrible. We replace them every 6 months, but they’re really really awful, and the money we spend buying 4 “cheap” pillows a year would be better spent on 2 nice pillows a year. Good luck convincing Mack of that, though.
Maybe once he slept on a nice pillow, he’d know the difference!!

16I have a latex foam pillow which I’ve had for ages. I’ve become addicted to them, but they’re not that easy to find. I’d love to see what sleeping on a super nice pillow feels like

17My pillows are from Costco - and not sure from how long ago. Ekkkk!

18My current pillow is from Ikea… definitely not ideal, although that’s my own fault for going for one of Ikea’s cheaper models.

19I’m pretty sure mine are costco too

20Mine is from target - fancy.

21My current pillow is a memory foam pillow from Sam’s Club. I like it, but my boyfriend always tries to steal it, so we need another good pillow.

22My pillow is from a discount store bought when I was in college….15 years ago. Just writing that made me realize how sad it sounds. Time for a new one.

23Oooh, I took my pillows from my mom’s house when I moved into my apartment…who knows where she got them, but my bet’s on Wal-mart. They are getting flat so I have been meaning to buy a new one but keep procrastinating…

24I *think* mine is from Macy’s but I’m not 100% sure. My mom got it for me for Christmas. I ask for one every year and that’s the only time I get a new one - when she buys it for me!

25Yep mine are probably from walmart - not sure! gadds thats bad.

26At first I felt kinda guilty for using Target pillows, but since I definitely do not seem to be the only one, I will proudly stand by my cheap, Target pillows that manage to get me by.

27Wal-Mart, and they are just awful! Would love a new one.

28Oh Jenna! My pillows are from Kmart. They are down, and probably about 5 years old. Meep.

29I got my current pillows from Macy’s. I hate buying pillows because they’re awesome when you first buy them and then they flatten out! So annoying! I’m in search of a new one that doesn’t do that!

30We actually have some pillows from Pottery Barn that I loved when we first got them. Light and fluffy and they held their shape. But now they’re 2 years old and are getting pretty flat. Before those pillows, all of mine were always cheap ones from Target or somewhere like that. We only got the Pottery Barn ones because they were on clearance and we had a gift card after our wedding to use (you can’t get much at Pottery Barn for $100!).

31Get this — I am 95% sure that the pillow I use is from my parents’ wedding registry. And they just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. So yes, even though I like my pillow, for the sake of all that is sanitary, I should probably get a new one

32It’s so hard to spend a ton of money on a pillow, even though it’s something you use every single night. Which is why we get ours at Walmart. Every few months because they flatten out so quickly.

33Cosco contro pillow here! Ready to move up!!

34OOOh, I’ve been looking for a new pillow. Ours are from Target, but these sound much comfier!

35I currently have a pillow I bought at JCPenney. It’s not that great, so winning this one would rock!

36Our current pillows were gifted to us for our wedding and are the same fabric as our bed-a knockoff version of the NASA mattress where the wine doesn’t spill. But like you, I also do the arm underneath and can never find the cool spot either. Awesome giveaway!

37You have NO idea how much I need this!!! My last pillow is from when I was a child!! It is gross, it is time for a new one. I am cheap. Help!

39I don’t even know where my pillow is from. I know that it’s a hand-me-down pillow and I don’t think it’s THAT old, but still…
I didn’t realize that I sleep with my hand under my pillow to prop myself up too! Fortunately, I don’t wake with pins and needles. At least not often.
Congrats on your new pillow!

40My pillows come from WalMart - and not even the highest quality WM pillows. Would sure love to win one of these!

41Oh I could use a new pillow! I think it contributes to my clenching my teeth (or that could be the kiddo waking me up, too…) My pillow is from Target. I replace it every few months because it nevers stays the right firmness for long.

42i think mine are from macys…had to use a giftcard up and that was the only thing that i could find. nice pillows but they are…6 yrs old! bad, i know but i do run it through the dryer once in a while.

43I bought my pillow at target.

44My pillow is from Target, and every night when I lie down to sleep on it, I think, “Man, I really need a new pillow.” It has definitely outlived its usefulness and comfortable-ness (I know that’s not a word), and it’s time for me to get something more comfortable so I can sleep better! Thanks for the opportunity, Jenna and Malouf

45I love squishy feather pillows, so all mine are ones that my mother has given me. My allergies would do much better if I found newer squishies.

46My pillow is from BB&B, I believe. It is a lumpy mess, with a giant dip in the middle.

47Right now my pillows are TERRIBLE. We got them as a shower gift, and they’re the worst pillows I’ve ever slept on. A new pillow wouls help my sleep out so much….

48My current pillow is from Ikea- from 4 years ago. It’s definitely on it’s last legs, but attempts to replace it have failed. I can’t seem to find one that I like better and just wind up switching back.

49My current pillow was given to me by Grandma when I left for college— it has my name embroidered on it, which was so sweet of my Grandma to do! That was almost 8 years ago, though, so I clearly need a new pillow!
