Sunday Picnics Mean Dirty Bum for Baby Boy

Posted by Jenna, Under Personal

We were invited on a nice little picnic right outside our apartment building to celebrate the 100 days of a Chinese baby that lives in an apartment below us (some new people in our ward* speak Chinese because they both (husband and wife, at separate times) served in China and they invited us to celebrate with a woman in the building they met in the elevator). I tried really hard to be adventurous with the foods I tried, and I was able to consume everything except the bony pieces of duck neck and the extra-fatty pieces of meat.

T1 had lots of fun playing with the other kids, but as you can see, he had the most fun playing in the mud and attempting to climb into the pond.

One of the older Chinese women there said she is going to make dumplings and invite us over sometime soon. Yum!

*We adore this new family, the husband is a business student at Booth with TH. If anyone has done research on natural birth in the Chicago area, btw, will you email me? They are expecting and trying to find out more about their options.

  3. I’m not an expert in natural childbirth but I recently switched to a midwife group in Oak Park. They’re called West Suburban Midwife Association. They have a couple of Alternative birthing rooms at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park. It might be a bit of a drive for your friend but they are worth it! We recently changed drs to go to them and now we’re driving about 40 minutes. They have a great reputation! I’m due in November. :)
