Fashionably Modest: Cream and Yellow
I’m trying really hard to build up a closet with less black you guys. Really I am! And look at me wearing something with no black pieces whatsoever. I’m sure Caitlin is so proud (she’s been bugging me to ditch the all-black fro awhile now). This outfit was a bit fussy though, I’m not sure I’d wear it again with a baby. I was constantly pulling my shirt up, my skirt down, and wrapping the sweater back around me to keep it from drifting open. Also you sadly can’t see how pretty and curly my hair was this day. It made me feel so fancy.
And if you’re wondering how I could bear to wear a sweater in the middle of August, it’s a pretty light one, and we stayed inside the whole time at church where we have air conditioning.
Sweater: Nordstrom, $25
Cream tank: Thrifted, $2
Skirt: Ann Taylor, $75
(that’s a guess, my mom gave it to me)
Necklace: Kate Spade, Gift
Shoes: Yoox ,$65ish
Total: $167
I went to the thrift store near my apartment again and picked up a pile of awesome stuff that I’m really excited to share with you! Ohhh, and the belt for $1. You’re going to love this belt…
You can’t see my necklace in that shot, so I’ll give you a close-up. Isn’t it gorgeous? My bride from last weekend gave it to me (I know, nicest ever right!??!) and I want to wear it every single day.
Um, hello! You look smokin’ in cream and yellow! Buh bye black.

12That outfit truly is gorgeous, though I can see how it could be fussy once you add an active little one to the mix. Good for you for stepping out of your color palette comfort zone though, because the outfit is fantastic.
In case & you T1 are hungry, I have a giveaway for Stonyfield Organic Activia going on right now & there’s going to be five winners
I know that’s probably weird to share, but the little yogurt cups always make me think of babies, so it popped into my head as I was commenting on your outfit!

14I sent you a message a few months ago with a link to that necklace in it while it was on sale! Did you not get my message? Well, I’m glad you got the necklace anyway!

I just don’t usually buy jewelry for myself. Most of what I have has been gifted

19Question- as a photographer how do you feel when people provide you with a cash tip vs. a nice gift like the necklace? I was thinking about getting my stylist who is doing my hair for my wedding a nice necklace like that, but with a pair of scissors, but I’m not sure if she will be upset that she didn’t get a cash tip.

21Just as an FYI, they have great cardigans in the junior’s section (yes, the junior’s section - I’m pretty sure we’re about the same size, and I can wear them) at Nordstrom for pretty cheap (maybe $18?) and they come in a whole bunch of colors. The brand is bp, which I believe is Nordstrom’s juniors’ brand. I have a gray one that I wear ALL the time and also a green one. Emily tipped me off to them
