Fasionably Modest (Thrifted): Utah Mom Style
I picked up this dress or $8 at the thrift store, even though I was a bit hesitant about it. I knew I’d have to wear leggings with it (it’s just too long to wear over skinny jeans, and just too short to wear alone), and I could hear my sister in my head laughing at my Utah mom outfit. Leggings! Mormon women love leggings.
When I put the dress+leggings on for the first time, I was ready for TH to let me know he wasn’t a fan, as he has expressed in the past that he’s not a leggings lover either, but he kept telling me over and over how much he loved the look, and that he couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but he was a really big fan of the dress. Another thrift store win! This look is so comfortable, I’ve designated it my official flying outfit and am wearing it on the flights to Poland, to Italy, from Italy, and from Poland. Once I lose a bit more around the middle, I’ll belt it for some added definition, but for now I like the flowy look.
Dress: Ann Taylor, $8
Leggings: Nordstrom, $18
Shoes: Cole Haan, $160
Earrings and bracelet: Gifts (earrings from Sarah Briggs)
Total: $186.00
T1 was so cute, he couldn’t figure out why I kept posing, running over to check the screen to check the exposure and focus, then doing it all over again.
I decided it was time we get some more pictures of the two of us together.
You look gorgeous in these photos! Love the dress/leggings

3I have an almost identical outfit! The tunic/dress that I have has more white in it, but it’s so similar! I’ve worn it belted and with heels as a dress for my girlfriend’s bachelorette, and I wear it throughout the summer as you do above, with leggings and black ballet flats. I get compliments on it all the time. It looks great on you! And I love the turquoise accents.

9I’m so jealous of your thrift stores. Our stores just don’t have awesome finds like THIS. I think larger cities have better stuff. Love this look. I also love the pics with T1 in them. They are beautifully candid.

11I worked at Loft when that dress came out. It was really popular. I still see people wear it a lot. I love that it doesn’t get too wrinkly.

13Jenna - This looks great I think because you may be a V-shape, and it lengthens your neck with the neck while lengthening the whole body too. Also, I think you look good in high-contrast patterns. I really recommend, now that I think about it, read the blog Inside Out Style. She has great practical, almost scientific tips about what makes us look good.
Oh, and #amwearing…

14That is a great look, I can see why you were a bit hesitant about the dress cause it is kinda loud, but you truly wear it great.

16I like the dress. Not a fan of the leggings- I think leggings are ugly. But you look really pretty and that dress is cute!

20Jenna you look great and I am so proud of you. But I am sorry to say the tears running my face are not for you. I miss ThatLittleMan (TLMan). I am surprise I still have my heart in my chest. When he was here he “transported” it with him.

21I’m not sure how I missed this post!!! I talked about this travel outfit on a comment on another blog not too long ago!!! (http://spenceranderica.blogspot.com/2011/08/not-so-weary-traveler-returns-home-and.html)
This is my favorite travel outfit! I found this out when we went to Paris last year.

22love the outfit but the bracelet is distracting. ditch it! or go with a black and white bracelet or the turquoise blue color that is also in the dress.

24I do really like the outfit, but T1 totally steals the show! I sometimes feel like capri length leggings make me look shorter, have you ever noticed that?

25I don’t normal dig leggings but you somehow pull it off well with this outfit. You look really amazing!

26I love this outfit too!!!! The dress is just beautiful! I’m not one who loves to wear leggins that much either, but I’ve been learning to get used to wearing them more - they surely are very comfy and so easy to pack up for trips, you’re right!
