Hyde Park Cooking Club (Another Try)
Well, I took all of my stuff down to the church, all ready to make kale chips and a spinach shake and some carrot soup. This carrot soup that we have on hand all the time lately.
Then no one showed up . And I felt like a loser. I’m not ready to give up though. If you’d like to come, details and the link to RSVP here. I’m trying out a new day and time to see if that helps.
That’s so crappy! I have had that happen to me before too (plan something and no one shows up). Definitely know how you feel. Sigh. Sorry!!

1Aw, I’m so sorry! when you get back to Dallas, I’d love to do a cooking club!

2I know you were excited about this so I’m sorry no one showed up. Some unsolicited feedback: People might feel more comfy showing up if it felt more like a social gathering as opposed to a lesson. (Even if formality is not what you intend, if there’s someone instructing, it does seem to add the pressure.) Good luck!

Maybe I’m not doing a very good job of conveying what I’m wanting to do? I do think it will be very casual, but there will be somewhere there cooking the recipe and showing how they do it. I like structure though so I have a hard time imagining it working better in a different form

Sorry that happened! I hopefully can come sometime, but nights are really hard in our house these days… Maybe in a couple months

4That kind of sucks that no one showed! I have a hard time finding events like that around here though, so I couldn’t imagine not showing up to something like that! Hopefully next time goes better.

5I would have loved to come. I wouldn’t mind at all - in fact I would kind of *expect* - some kind of teaching aspect involved. I’ve heard of cooking clubs before where one person hosts and has a theme that they “teach” each other on, even if just broadening a recipe base in that category - I would love that.
I don’t know if this past event was an RSVP’d event, if it was I’d be really mad/sad. When I tell someone I’m going to be somewhere, I better have a dang good reason for not showing up, otherwise - I’m there! Hope you get better turnout next time because it sounds like a great idea to try out.
Picture me there in spirit!

6What a bummer! I’d have come if I still lived in Chicago….

7Oh gutted
Did people RSVP? If they did it’s pretty rude to not come without telling you about it (assuming they had a way of contacting you).
I’d feel really sad too, but don’t take it personally, sometimes these things happen. I see the next one is RSVP, hopefully everything runs much more smoothly!

8I would have come! …but I live in California. When & if we move to Chicago, you will be long gone. Hope it goes better next time!!!

9Sorry no one showed up! I don’t live in Chicago but I’d be interested in some sort of live video stream

10I’m so sad that I’ll be moving to Chicago around the time you’ll be leaving. I would LOVE something like this. Maybe it will be up and running by the time I move and I can butt in then even though you’ll be gone.

11Oh no! If I lived in your part of the world (and not on the other side seperated by much much water and other lands!) I would DEFINATELY have been there to see you teach! I LOVE your cooking and the way you’ve turned your family’s eating habits around. I must buy some of the books you have mentioned that help you on your journey.

Could you/have you post(ed) the recipe for your carrot soup on TW somewhere? I’d love to try it! Maybe you could VLOG your cooking class for those of us who can’t be there with you??
