Green Wall, Decorated
Only took me about 15 months, but I finally managed to put something together on this wall. First we painted it green. Then, 9 months later, I picked up a free shelf at our church swap meet. I nailed it to the wall, half-painted, and set some stuff on top. Then Sara from A Vintage Poster sent me that sweet little orange elephant print. I knew I wanted to put some pictures on that wall, so I picked up some cheap frames at Michael’s, but I felt overwhlmed trying to figure out what colors to choose in order to coordinate with the already existing green wall and orange elephant print. Is there a website for this? I decided that my best bet was color explosion, so I grabbed some bright blue and yellow paint.
Here you can see T1 at birth, 6 months, 12 months, and 18 months.
I’m not sure I’m in love with it. In part, because I just kind of threw the frames on the wall without measuring, and I think the shelf is too far over to the left, and the frames too far over to the right. It also feels a bit cluttered. Maybe the frame the elephant is in needs to be painted white? Oh well, it’s good enough for the 6 months we have left.
This is my sidekick. He desperately wanted to nail holes into the wall, but I wouldn’t let him.
I love the colors!! for color selections, I usually go to colourlovers.com or design-seeds.com

your welcome!!
Someone introduced me to this site when I was in design school… You upload an image and it gives you the colors in it. http://bighugelabs.com/colors.php
2It’s awesome ’cause how often do we love the feel of a photograph and want to replicate it?
Does your apt complex make you change the colors you painted in your apt back to plain white? Random question, just curious.
Maybe repaint the yellow shelf to a shade of green/grey so it doesn’t pop as much? That way the frames & vintage elephant photo remain the focus. I would even put two small hooks on the lower part of shelf, and hang either a foot print & hand print of T1…

Yes, we have to paint it back. They provide the paint at least!
I second colourlovers! It’s such a fun site. Your wall turned out really cute.
4I love the orange elephant. I have a couch that is currently covered that has the same orange plaid. I can’t wait till I have the money to buy furniture that matched the orange so i can un cover it.
5I like the wall. Since you dont have much longer there I think it works well for now!
