As T2 and I made our way across the stage at my undergraduate convocation I felt overwhelmed. My family contributed so much to make this happen and I can’t thank them enough.
It feels magnificent to say I will never have to mark “some college” on a form or application ever again.
To my Father-In-Law: Your first grandchild wasn’t born to a college-educated mother, but your second grandchild will be.

Congratulations!!! Your graduating is a HUGE accomplishment! Umm that that baby news is pretty darn amazing all on it’s own!! Our first children are the same age and now it looks like our second ones will be also! It will be nice to see how someone else is handling the change!

On another note: I do hope that your father-in-law doesn’t determine your entire worth due to your status as a college graduate. You have so many other qualities that make you who you are. The term “college graduate” does mean a lot (it is something I am personally proud of calling myself) but it does not define who I am as a person. I wouldn’t want anyone, especially my in-laws, to judge my life’s worth based on my ability to complete college.
