Genesis 13
Was there a part of Lot that desired what was found in Sodom? Did he know the evils being comminuted there? I understand choosing the land based on crop viability, but why pitch his tents toward such a wicked place? This does not seem like an instance where Lot chose his path using careful prayer and study. Or maybe everything was done out of convenience. He chose the land for the soil and water, and pitched his tent toward the city because of the convenience of the market. Either way I find a lesson fir myself in these verses. It is important for me to not only rely on the Lord, but to be aware of my surroundings and the extenuating circumstances. I don’t know everything (as God does) but I can do my homework and make the best decision possible based on the knowledge I have access to.
Abraham was very rich. It is not a sin to be rich, it is a sin to love money and material possessions more than God.Abraham was a wise steward over the things he had been blessed with.
