Exodus 18 Why did Moses send his wife away? Or maybe it wasn’t that he sent her away, more like he never brought her with him to Egypt in the first place. He wanted her to be safe. Moses was humble enough to take his FIL’s advice about how to organize the people. We have [...]

I had such a nice streak going with my daily reading, and that fell by the wayside pretty quickly as soon as I got busy. Exodus 17 Asking for the water, that I think was okay. This attitude of “Thw Lord must not be here because He is not fixing our problems for us” is [...]

Exodus 16 I don’t think Israel was necessarily murmuring without warrant. They were starving, and in their opinion living in slavery where you are fed daily is better than starving to death. As I have been lucky enough to avoid both, I will side with them on this one. I think if you were to [...]

Frustrating! Everything I wrote earlier was erased. The conclusion I reached: I need to be less prideful and make room for God in my heart. 0

Exodus 12 It took two weeks to get to the part where they killed the lamb and put the blood on the door. I wonder how long the process was from the time Moses went to see Pharaoh for the first time? Sometimes the Lord asks things of us for symbolic/His reasons. And if we [...]

Exodus 11 Oh goody! We’re finally to the part when the Hebrews “borrow” jewels and gold from the Egyptians. —— Adam Clarke, a Bible scholar, commented on the translation of the Hebrew word sha’al as “borrow.” “This is certainly not a very correct translation: the original word . . . shaal signifies simply to ask, [...]

Exodus 10 How do people who interpret the Bible literally deal with this idea that Pharaoh has his heart hardened by God over and over? I don’t think that is what happened. Verses 10 and 11 are so confusing. Wasn’t Pharoah saying yes? And Moses sent the locusts anyway? 0

Exodus 9 I wrote up a nice post musing abut Pharaoh some more, but WordPress ate it. I must say I’m quite proud of this 10 day streak I have happening. I’ve been very productive/disciplined in all areas so far during the new year and it feels great. 0
