Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are encouraged to spend a little bit of time each day studying the standard works, which includes the Old and New Testament of the King James Version of the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price.

Since the birth of my son, my scripture reading has really suffered. I read daily with my husband, a time which I really cherish, but my personal study has all but disappeared. I know based on past experiences, that for me scripture study is most consistent when I am working toward a specific goal. This blog is the manifestation of my latest goal, to read through from the beginning of the Bible to the end of the Doctrine and Covenants.

My plan is to read a little bit each day, and write a post about what I read. Each post could be as short as a reference to note what I read, or it could develop into a longer essay on my personal interpretation of the verses, or it could be a collection of links and quotes from LDS leadership on the topic. I have no timeline for when I would like to finish, I just hope that starting this blog will keep me reading consistently over time, teaching me to make time for the Lord and His Words each day.

Comments are always welcome, though between my three blogs, photography business, housework, and family, I might not have time to reply to all of them, and I hope you will forgive me for that. They are always read, and always very much appreciated.
