Ant War II
Definitely NOT over.
I opened up the food cupboard today to find this…
After I cleared out everything from the bottom two shelves I found this…
You’re getting a post about Cheesecake Enchiladas tomorrow since I’m making them tonight to celebrate my victory in the battle. Unfortunately, I don’t think this means I have won the war. They’re here somewhere still. I can smell them.
I highly suggest ripping up the carpet and exterminating those vile creatures :).
1Ahhh - when I lived in August we had a serious Ant problem … as in for 1 week straight we woke up for breakfast and they found somewhere else to come in. Thought the problem was fixed, then 1 month after that they were back again. The last bug guy that came said to use Windex to kill them, or any other cleaning product - not bug killer because it’s not necessary to use all of those chemicals to kill them - you just have to find where they are coming form. If you have any trees/bushes surrounding the exterior of your place, and the branches are touching/grazing the exterior walls the ants are probably coming in from there … if you trim the trees back they should go away … it worked for us! Good luck - they are annoying little creatures!
2When I first moved in my apartment, I had a TON of ants. They were horrible. I had the complex bring the exterminators. They sprayed a few squirts in the rooms and now, 2.5 yrs later. I haven’t seen another ant. If you get an exterminator one good time, you will probably not have to deal with them again. ;o)
3This brings back awful memories! Our pantry was stacked on our dining room table for a week or so just so I didn’t have to clean in there again. Call the exterminators-stat!
4It’s not Royal out in the middle of nowhere!! No ANTS!!
5I wouldn’t be so nice. I would make the management take care of it pronto! You are a student and cannot afford to keep replacing your food items. Ridiculous! If your management doesn’t do anything, I suggest contacting the management company. Ugh, it urks me when people don’t do their jobs! Luck!
6This might help it seemed very informative

7BLEGH!!! Gross! Have you phoned maintenance yet?
8Well, every battle won is one closer to the end of the war. You can do it!
Call Maintenance Every Day until they can fix the problem. Ewwww skin crawling again.
9Oh my heavens girl…I am so sad for you! This brings back some painful memories for me…lol. Last year when we lived in San Antonio I had an absolute NIGHTMARE with ants. I had 12 infestations in 4 months and I mean BAD infestations. For example, one time I came home and opened the pantry door (similar to what your pantry looks like) and saw ants…well after taking everything off the shelves I just saw a huge black MASS….all over the back wall and side walls. They were EVERYWHERE!!! That is just ONE example of many. And the pest control company even came to treat my house several times. I still think back on it and shudder.
It was miserable! So anyway, I can totally relate. Do you guys live on the first floor? I did, and I’m convinced that was the majority of my problem. Ants are so bad in Texas! Ugh! I’m sorry girl!
10Welcome to Texas. Seriously it can be a never ending battle. Luckily you live in an apartment so you can hound the heck out of maintenece to take care of the little buggers. HaHa!
11Dawn- Yeah, we live on the first floor, and that is definitely the issue. I think this is the last time we will choose a first floor apartment in Texas though.
