This is a swimsuit. And I kind of want it. Not because of anything to do with modesty or religion, but because I think it looks cute. This is a bad idea, right?
I’m guessing it’s because it reminds me of this darling little number from the early 1900’s. Lose the stockings and the slippers, and I would so splash around in the ocean in this.

I like that style too, but with a shorter ruffled skirt and thinner straps, and a lower sweetheart neckline- I found one like that with polka dots that played up more of a fifties feel than a turn of the century feel.

My liking of covered up swimsuits is more to save the eyesight of those around me than modesty. People would probably pay me to wear this kind of swimsuit if they could!
But I remember seeing a very cute swimsuit on QVC (online) that was thin/spagetti straps and came down to the upper thigh - it was shaped and an adorable fabric and they too called it a swimdress. It had a full regular swimsuit panel underneath, but on top it looked like a cute little dress. I loved it and wished I had bought it! I really don’t “swim” anymore, more just hop around the pool with my son. Check out QVC sometime if you are ever looking for a swimsuit that’s made for more than just a 98 lb 12 year old.

Ooo..I always wanted a swim dress! For me it would be for modesty, plus it is super cute in a vintage kind of way. Hm, although I would use a different color and pattern

That one’s a little too much for me - sometimes more fabric makes people (like me) feel/look even bigger. I’m so excited that maillot style swimsuits (think Marilyn Monroe style) swimsuits are coming back! I was reading the latest issue of Vogue and found this awesome one by Land’s End - I’m dying to get it!

I like a modestly cut suit, and while the swimdress is cute … I’m confused by the bottom half. It seems like a lot of fabric that may or may fair well when wet.
If you like it, you should get it!! I think its cute, I’d just be worried about how it does in the water (and if it would sag weird).

I like the idea of a swim dress, I’m just not fond of the print of that one. The style harkens to turn of the century, but the daisys look right out of 1997.

I don’t like being hot in sleeves, even shirt ones… My armpits need to breathe! I don’t play tennis or go running in sleeves, if I can help it. But - as a fair skinned person, I do like the coverage for an SPF factor!

Bad idea Jenna! Sorry, I had to be the one to say it. I can’t see you wearing that - too frumy! I’m all about a tankini for coverage
