It’s been a big week for me, writing about my new calling, dealing with a husband who travels, and yesterdays post on photography and pregnancy. I need a break from the in-depth posts, and what better way to do it than with an entry where I brag about all of my lovely birthday presents?

Gifts 1&2 were here.

Gift 3 was here.

And it’s finally time to reveal Gift #4! (Remember, this was labeled as the “frivolous one” by That Husband so I was quite excited).

First this came in the mail:

My replacement canvas from Nations Photo Lab! Although I do have some issues with the color, I attribute them to me not having my monitor calibrated, not the lab itself. The image is sharp and crisp, and will look fantastic in our home wherever we move. I appreciate their effort to make sure I was happy with my purchase and I love seeing this in the living room, reminding me of our beautiful Seattle wedding!

And a few other lovely gifts I received from my favorite ladies (mom, sister, and grandma).

I opened up the package from my grandma and found this tackle box inside. What would she put in a tackle box?

A sewing kit! The other day I went into Michaels and tried to get some things so that I could finally start using my sewing machine, but it was so overwhelming, and I didn’t know where to get the bobbins so I just gave up and went home. Now I have no more excuses. It’s time to get sewing!

That Sister sent me this gorgeous bracelet. I think it’s quite possible that it’s too fabulous for me to wear. I guess TH and I are going to have to dress up and go out somewhere where I can rock this bracelet. I tried putting it on while I dumped potatoes and chicken in the crock pot, but it just wasn’t working. I’m thinking sushi.

What good taste she has.

That Mom made things fun by wrapping a bunch of little gifts individually. After watching me open presents at Christmas 22 years in a row she knows me very well.

It was definitely a fun little collection of gifts. I’m halfway through Fast Track Photographer already, and I high recommend it to anyone looking to get into wedding photography. I immediately warned TH never to put my fancy new spatulas handles in the dishwasher. He informed me that he interpreted my warning as an indication he should stop doing the dishes altogether. I told him this was not the case.

And finally to the “frivolous” gift from That Husband.

About a week after my birthday (we celebrate things oddly because of my photography schedule and his business schedule) he left the house at 8 pm and said he had to go “out”, and wouldn’t tell me where he was going or when he would be back. This is very strange behavior in That Household.

About 45 minutes later he returned and set two boxes on my lap.

The first contained a Paciugo gelato pie, in my favorite flavor, Amarena Black Cherry Swirl.

And the other box had me tearing up before I even had it opened.

You newlyweds and brides likely know what is inside this box…

“Let’s Make This Go On Forever”. We used to sign our emails, text messages, and letters to each other that way while we were dating. I’m the prolific one in the relationship, but it doesn’t always take a multitude of words to say something meaningful.

How could 25 ever top this?
