Book Club Results for October, November, December
The results are in!
October
November
December
As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m going to alter the format just a bit. Instead of putting up a discussion post on the 15th of each month (at the end of each reading period), I’m going to put up a discussion post at the beginning of each reading period so that people can discuss as they go along! I hope you’ll like the change because I’m really excited about it. Because we’re reading non-fiction it will be difficult to “spoil” things for others, and this will allow people like me with bad memories to bring things up as we read them instead of waiting until the end and racking our brain to figure out what we can contribute to the discussion.
And the discussion is the whole reason I wanted to do this. Your prolific comments combined with the plugin I have that allows threaded commenting should equal a really great conversation each month. If the posts keep crashing due to high number of comments (as it has been known to do), maybe someone tech savvy will offer to help me figure out what that keeps happening? (Hint hint?)
The post for each month will be really easy to find because I have a nice little badge on the right side of the blog (those same badges I offered up to all of you!). Click on that at any time and it will take you to the current discussion thread for the book we’re all reading.
The response to this idea was even bigger than I imagined it might be. I think we’re going to have a great time! (And remember to play nice. )
I’ll put up a reminder post on October 15th, letting people know that we’re moving on to the next book. We’ll vote for the January book sometime in November.
Happy reading!
Cool, I’m excited Nuture Shock is part of the book list. I think I’ll try to see if they have this month’s book at the library too, it seems like an interesting subject.
1Yippe! Amazon here I come!
2I’m not sure about this month’s book (if I can get it and read in time) but the NutureShock book is one I’m looking forward too! I think I’ll love it - I love books like that that dispel commonly held ideas!:)
3I’m looking forward to all of these books! And I vote to keep “Half the Sky” in the running for future months
4Just so everyone knows… Audible.com (audio books through amazon) is having a free 30 day trial with 2 free audio books. They have Nurture shock and Cheap.
5Headed to Barnes and Noble right now!
6I’m excited about this!! It should make for some interesting discussions!
7I voted for the top two books, so I’m excited to see they were picked! I’m sure Nurture Shock will be interesting too.
8I can’t believe Half the Sky didn’t make it! I agree that you should definitely keep it in the running for later months.
9Fun! I’m mad though that the first one isn’t available on Kindle… what the heck!
