New ‘do
From this,
to this,
to today…
It’s darker than I would like (my mom will hate it), but I’m happy that it’s all one color, and I LOVE the cut. The bangs were a good idea. She also took several inches off the length, so it feels a lot shorter to me, though I realize that no one would classify this as anything other than long hair. It will be loooooong again soon enough!
You may have noticed, I took all of these hair pictures with the camera pointing down at me a little bit. It’s a great way to slim yourself down in photos!
I can’t get the dang camera to focus on my eyes when I’m shooting wide (although this was f3.2) so I almost threw this out but I wanted you to see the bangs. Very subtle but I’m already tucking like a crazy person. It’s been a awhile since I had bangs and I forget how frequently you reach up to tuck your hair behind your ears when you have side-swept bangs like this.
My plan is to dye it myself next time (with help of course), but for Europe I wanted to make sure it didn’t turn into a mess.
Oh, and a reminder to sign up for Ebates (tomorrow is the deadline!) if you haven’t already! I didn’t realize that I get a $5 credit for each person who signs up and buys something, so I’ll be holding a giveaway no matter what to say thank you. The catch? Should I give away one really big prize or a few smaller ones?

4I said it on Twitter but you look fabulous - and I hear you on the bangs. I got a full fringe cut last April and then went stir crazy waiting for it to grow out!
The length looks lovely and healthy - it will grow back super fast after cutting the heavy ends off. That’s what mine desperately needs now.. a couple of inches off the bottom! You look perfectly sassy for Europe.
Also: that colour top is gorgeous with your eyes.

5I did the ebates sign up from your link but I have a little while before I have to purchase something right? Or is that deadline tomorrow too?
I need some face wash so I figured I might as well stock up through your ebates thing on drugstore.com. Win-win-win! But I want to wait until I get paid on Friday.

8Love the color! I generally dye my own hair a very similar color, so I’m probably biased. I signed up for Ebates, so I don’t know if that helps you any? I’m sort-of stuck on the buying something as I have a self-imposed no buying clothes for 30 days rule going on right now! Good luck anyway!

10It looks so good, Jenna!! I’m so glad you put some layers in there and went with a long bang. The color also looks fantastic. Plus, it’s fall and I believe everyone should go darker in the fall/winter (I most certainly do, anyway.)
Have you thought about experimenting w/ darkening your brows with a pencil or angle brush and eyeshadow? I started doing it a few years ago and it totally changes my face. I know you probably have zero time to worry about a lot of make up, but for those special occasions it’s a great way to play up your eyes a bit

The color is actually gorgeous with your eyes. Don’t be alarmed at the darkness- after a few washes it will settle into a beautiful not-too-dark brown! You will see!

I went dark myself twice over the last 5 years or so and loved it. I have blue eyes like yours and got a lot of the same compliments about them really standing out against dark hair… makes me miss it - but just for a minute!
Eventually I went back to blond because it was harder for me to maintain a darker look but I think you should totally keep this up
Congrats on getting a great cut and color at a new stylist too - I’m always so nervous about trusting a new person with my hair but she did an awesome job for you!

35Dang girl! I love it! I agree the color is a little dark-not ugly, but I just prefer you with a lighter brown. But WOW that cut does a lot for you! While your hair never seemed straggly to me at all, the trim really makes it look polished.

36I’m just going to repeat what every body else said but it does make your eyes stand out wonderfully. I’m sure the shirt dosn’t hurt either.
I should be able to buy by the 10th. I was excited to find out they work with orbitz, and I have to buy tickets to France for the end of October, my dad is sending me there for my grandmother 80th birthday (I found out this morning). So yeah.

49Perhaps I am partial… but I like brown hair. lol. Your’s actually looks like the same shade as mine. For some reason I think it looks better on other people, but we’re always picking at ourselves. lol. I could never make the commitment involved in hair dying. I just don’t want to deal with the up-keep and fuss involved.
