Picking Apples in Indiana

Posted by Jenna, Under Adventures

It’s cold outside (for most of us). We’re antsy for Christmas. A post featuring apple picking, pumpkin patch frolicking, and babies in short sleeves seems well-timed, don’t you think? These are from October when we went to an apple orchard/pumpkin patch/petting zoo place popular with the families at church. The couple we went with have a son about our age, and the husband served a mission in Poland, so we always have a lot to talk about.

T1 spent most of his time with one apple clutched under each arm. He would take one bite, throw it down, and pick up a new one.

Can you see my pregnant friend all the way up in that tree? She’s a daredevil for sure.

I picked a few apples, but more than anything enjoyed the chance to take lots of pictures of our little ones out in the sunshine.

T1 used to bite and push his friends. Luckily that was a short stage and he plays much nicer now.

Family picture time!

Only 3-4 more months of miserable freezing weather before we get to play outside like this again. We can do it, right? At least That Husband was released from his building coordinator position and no longer has to shovel the church sidewalk whenever it snows. Something we are very, very grateful for.

  1. Come to MN if you think Chicago is cold.

  2. Looks like fun! Glad to hear you got through T1s aggressive stage, I was wondering how that was going.
    Have a great Christmas!

  3. That picture of TH and T1 on the stairs is the cutest thing I have ever seen.

I grew up in Indiana, and we used to drive past an apple orchard like this one every single day. These pictures make me miss it a lot. The desire to return to Indiana for autumn hit me bad this year.

I love that picture of the two of them. And I admit, I’m a little jealous of all the pictures they have of the two of them naturally interacting with each other. I think it’s time for me to arrange a mommy and me session with T1. :)

Do you and TH ever sit for “Duet” photos? The family ones are beautiful at the end but with T1 so squirrely in some - made me wonder if y’all capture yourselves as “just” the married part of your family.

We haven’t, partly because I always am waiting to do them until I reach my goal weight. I think that http://www.anniceephotographie.com/ might be a good candidate to do a trade with!

  4. Too cute how he would take a bite and throw it to the ground and get a new one, If i was his age my reasoning would be the same, why take two bites of one delicious apple when I can take one bite out of all the them.
